I remember in the early concepts of Star Trek Online, they talked about everyone being crew of a large ship, and not everyone being captains. Well, that idea was scrapped, and they went with a more typical 'safe' MMO experience. All these years later, and we've finally got an MMO, where people can be crew of a ship exploring the stars.

@@Farrister maybe not boring, but hectic, and stressful. It will be like being manager at McDonald's. Trying to micromanage everyone, as they've just started, no idea what they're doing, and have zero loyalty to the person telling them what to do. At least outside orgs with strict hierarchy.

I only got on it once, roamed for about half an hour, then found myself on the bridge.... Watched the fireworks and to my shock the ship began to move, i was beyond hyped to experience flying while standing on the bridge but my enthusiasm soon went deep underground... Deep as the prison mines are for the 7 minutes I was forced to spend there for trespassing. Thank you for the video, a real joy to see.

Ah, the shot of the MPUV with an NPC standing on an open hatch. I happen to know from experience that there is no magic forcefield and that players just fall out of the bottom of the Idris if they try it.

At this point im really tempted with the Aegis complete pack. Im like 700 dollars short in store credit after melting my upgraded dominus pack. I really want to get a javelin, and having an idris in addition to it would be awesome. Getting both via the limited purchase just seems impossible. Those freaking javelins sell out in 30 seconds. On the other hand i could also get the Drake complete pack buyback my Hull series pack. That would mean both Krakens and the Hull E. Dont know what to choose.

I dont own one, have a Polaris/Perseus/Nautilus among others, but, i'm always tempted to add one to my Fleet, although, it might be a just a little ambitious atm. Beautiful ship, and im envious for those that have one, cant see it till 2025 though. Well see

@@Farrister Well, prior to last years AIE i thought i was being pretty clever, except, i failed to take on board a simple truth, that ''ships still in Concept/under development can, and do go up in price'', so all those large ships i was snapping up....had mostly seen a price increase. Luckily it was day 2, so i melted what i had and built from there. Currently in my Hangar ive: the Zeus, Galaxy +modules/Odyssey/Nautilus/Perseus/Polaris/Orion/Arrastra/Merchantman/Raven, and currently finishing off an: ''Anvil Liberator''. Also ive 3 Endeavor CCU's, an ''Endeavor Masterset LTI, and all the individual modules, the Endeavor assets,masterset and modules are in Buyback at present. What i have is crew managable, i'll pass on the Idris and anything with a crew size larger than the Polaris. I did buy a couple of the ships on the grey market at considerable savings, CCU's are a great way to save $, yet those waters are murky and deep, yet fun. I also have 5 accounts, makes for some custom game loops and prison time at present just ride out the time on another account. It might seem i have a decent pile of ships and assets, yet there are some backers who have hundreds of ships, multiples of ships 2/3/4 Javelins, im small fry. Kudos

At CitizenCon last year I think they said it would be in for 1.0 - whether it makes 4.0, I'm not sure. Hopefully we'll get to see the Polaris though - she's looking great too!

Ha. I said the same thing when I walked around it in game. It's actually a very small ship in terms of actual crew space. The idris sacrifices a lot for it's hangar bay.

It's huge! But most things are on one deck, that's actually I think going to make it easier to navigate around the ship.
