The forty odd years I've watched rangers I've seen some phenomenal goalkeepers, but they've generally been quite specialized aside from stefan klos and jack. He isn't prime McGregor shot stopping or prime Goram one on one, but his talent lies in the breadth of his abilities. high attributes in all areas, a keeper that inspires trust with his consistency, and a man who speaks confidently, intelligently and with dignity. We're very lucky to have him.

Almost agree mate. For me you underestimate Klos. He knew he could be beaten from distance so he demanded his defence pushed out and if a striker got past them he had the eyes and reactions to deal with it.

Butland is good I. All the attributes needed shots from distance close range best of all coming for crosses his status at Rangers will depend on how long he stays for and how successful we are as a team

I don’t know how we manage it but we always seem to have an outstanding Goalkeeper at the club. Jack has been sensational so far this season and must be a candidate for the Player of the year already. I think we have got him in his prime where he is hungry to succeed and has a wealth of experience at a top level. Mccrorie never let us down when called upon and with him as a number 2 we are in a great position in that department of the team.

Dont know how we do it but as a club our success with goalkeepers is phenomenal. Young McCrorrie hasnt had much luck with keeping his spot when given the opportunity but Jack Butland has been an inspired bit of buisness. What a keeper and better than I originally thought.

Great video Jack has easily been our best signing in the last 15 years an absolute stand out professional and real quality goalkeeper, I hope he stays for a few years but am under no illusion there will be massive interest in him from down south, would love to see him getting back in the England set up I know Scotland is a weaker league but his performances in Europe in very intimidating atmospheres more than justify that.

We have been so fortunate to have a 4 decade long stint of near world class goal keepers. Butland is English national team quality and despite Englands number 1 partaking in relegation battles or mid table mediocrity, the English snobbery wouldn’t have him in the squad.
