Other than the woman fights that werent on the main card, Bo, and Funkmaster this was a solid card. WMMA has like 6 really good fighters, 2 really sexy fighters, and nothing else. Bo is Uncle Dana's favorite can crusher, good on Brundage to open with a flying knee but he gave up in the 2nd. Funkmaster just half guard camped Kattar who looked scared and unhappy to be there to sacrifice his ranking. Aljo gets absolutely slept by Touporia or Max.

You wouldn't believe how many KZbin channels we're saying that this is probably going to be a horrible beatdown on Max Holloway and that it could be career-changing or career ending for him. A lot of people were picking a Tony Ferguson style beatdown which Max would never recover from. I'm not saying that I was completely sure that Max was going to win this fight but I thought that it would be a stylistic challenge for Justin because Max is hard to hit and wouldn't just stand in front of Justin and allow that to happen. I think a lot of people didn't take into account that Max has seemed to develop that old man's strength at this point of his career and is capable of knocking people out for the first time in a long time. This wasn't an anomaly. If they fought a second time it would probably go just like this other than the showdown in the center of the ring at the end of the fight. Justin just could not get to Max and I think most MMA prognosticators did not consider that and though I considered it I didn't value it as highly as I should have. I also had Justin winning so I'm not saying that I'm perfect but according to a lot of KZbin MMA guys this was going to be a sad ending for Max that might have messed up the end of his fighting career. Instead Max is now the top guy to challenge for two different weight classes though he would not do very well against Islam but if Poirier beats him I think he would do really well in a rematch though Poirier's style isn't as different from Max's style as Justin's is. Also Topuria will have a difficult fight against Max Holloway because he is hard to hit and unless he chooses to take him down I think it could be an upset. At least based on what happened last night.

Listen to yourself mate. You said that Arman has got a chance to be a world champion but that Charles Oliveira is no longer championship material? This is coming off a debatable split decision between the two of them. It was basically a tie but one guy has no chance and the other is looking good to be a future champion? You can say that the difference is age but I think the difference is your bias. What if Dustin Poirier beats Islam? You don't think that Charles could beat him again. What if Arman beats Islam?
