I really don't understand all these arguments for control time and position winning the fight. I thought damage was the number one criteria that is to be judged before anything else. Unless I have something way off then it's just how the current set of rules says fights is to be judged. Damage above all. Damage decides fights. I get why people would want control to be worth more, but from everything I've heard isn't weighted the same under the current rules especially if you don't do something with it (i.e. damage or sub attempts). Control time and takedowns only come into play if there is no clear damage done to one fighter over over the other. Competitive fight, but because of the damage done and sig strikes landed, I don't understand how people are saying this was close. Clear robbery in my eyes.

Let’s pretend someone begins to throw a strike, and an opponent moves, and that opponent is struck in the back of the head because of that movement…it isn’t the fighters fault who threw the punch, because the other persons actions/motions led him into the punch landing in that specific area. The same thing can apply to Michel pereira. Where was the opponents head when he began his flip/maneuver? Would he have hit his opponent in the head if his opponent did not move? Idk. Someone break down the footage.

Big John knows the rules on Michelle fight but totally forgot how to score a fight. I bet neither of them watched the fight live. As many cards as there are now I don’t blame them but at least watch it before you make the show. Big John should be Steve’s biggest cheerleader right now because of the scoring on that fight. He has preached damage and scoring criteria for years and just forgets all that for this fight. That fight should be shown to judges in training to teach them how you really score a fight on the current scoring system. Poor guy got robbed of a title and half his money and two years of his career according to Josh.
