Khamzat was still able to beat Burns, Usman, despite fighting in a reckless, hasty, emotional manner lacking composure. Imagine if he fought calmly and focused, he would be very dangerous. if Khamzat fought calmly focused not in a hurry, Burns and Usman would have the same fate as Li jing liang. I'm not a big fan of Khamzat, but I have to honestly admit that Khamzat is a special fighter. And why do many people lose in the betting exchange? Because they think Khamzat still fights in the same way, full of emotion, like when he fought Burns and Usman 🤣 🤣 so stup*d. They forget that Khamzat is a developing and talented fighter. he is still young, he is smart, he is a learner and is never satisfied with what he gets. Yeah he is tough, strong and fights very ankward which can catch Khamzat. But Khamzat will not fight standing up. He will get takedowns. DDP may stop some. But he will be down at some point. And what a lot of fail to bring up when talking about Khamzat is, besides the slugfest with Burns, which was his personal trial by fire, he has barely taken a punch in all his fights. That cant be overestimated enough. How insane is that? I dont have the complete data, but he took some punches against Usman, right? (I looked, it was 36, but nothing that had him in any danger at all) But against Phillips, Mckee, Meerschaert, Jingliang Li, Kevin Holland and Whittaker? Zip, nada, zero. (I dont count 3-4 tap-taps) And he wasnt even on the defense. He was on the offense. When he is not willingly looking to put himself in harms way, (against Burns) he has not been at the risk of harm at all. Look at DDP after the Strickland fight, and ask yourself if you think that Chimaev would look the same after a fight with him? I repeat; DDP is strong, fast and unpredictable, but so is Chimaev. My bet is on Chimaev, DDP sleeps.

There's always exceptions but I think Chimaev has a preference for shooting the take down from orthodox stance in his recent fights. If I was DDP I would be looking to attack while Khamzat is south paw while being ready for take down defence when he shifts stance.

He was so weight drained at welterweight he was a shell of himself just like the difference of Perria at 205 compared to middleweight. Chimav was getting sick from his weight cut. But at 185 this dude could be a bigger version of Khabib he is scary dominant and everyone was talking about how dangerous this guy was but he was never really getting to show it but he's showing it now. I don't see anyone beating him at middleweight. If he dominates DDP then there is noone even coming close to beating him and he could very well move up n be a double champion.
