Well if you remember between rounds his coach said he wants to blitz you after you kick, so fake the kick and throw a 9 or a blu(which I'm guessing is a left or a right or a punch or an elbow) so that's exactly what he did. It did look like a superman punch but he actually faked the kick and as lyota went for the blitz he threw the right hand which made it like a car crash. The beginning of the end. @@Culcacculpoilculcris no they didn’t lol Jon hit lyoto with a straight cross to the face once lyoto got tired which rocked him and Jon kept the pressure on after that. Lyoto confirmed that. He got tired and slowed down and bam. After that he was fatigued and saw three Jon jones in front of him. There was zero figuring out lyotos blitz. Lyoto simply is too skilled at striking, hits to fast and hard with combos with amazing foot work and head movement. There’s no figuring out lyoto’s blitz because he isn’t timing it or looking for an opening, he just blitzes when he feels like it because there is nothing you can do to stop it.

Machida is my all time favourite fighter and I loved how this was probably the best anyone has ever done in a round against Jones. But this really shows the levels above Jones is when he adjusted in the next round and ended it so brutally.

Really impressive strategy from Machida but even more impressive adjustment from Jones. Machida decided that he'll just eat the leg kicks and blitz Jones with a flurry every time. Once Jones got clipped a few times and picked up on that, he started faking the leg kicks and throwing left hooks before Machida could reach him on the blitz attempts

Not to say that modern commentary has dipped in recent times, but the commentary here is a lot more enthusiastically animated and captivating for not just the hardcore but the casual fan tuning in, man I miss the ‘old days’ of these times within the ufc.

Trust me. We all miss the old days of these times in UFC. Only people who are at least mid 30s and up will understand. The commentary was so interesting. Thrilling. Animated. There was like a marvel element to it that makes it sound so insane. It's hard to explain...
