I saw UFO back in the late 70’s. AC/DC was the opening act… Great music was created and played live during this era! Good stuff!

YES! UFO is amazing! "Lights out" is just as good as this one. Live is best too. They changed the name of the city in it for every place they played. I seen them in Chicago, decades ago. Micheal Schenkner is a bloody legend on that Guitar. He went on to a long solo career, and called his band MSG. He was in the Scorpions too. Plenty more to hear from him, like Attack of the Mad Axeman. He is 68 now, and still jams out on stadium stages.

Michael Schenker is a legend on guitar. This song is from their first album Obsession was their best album then probably lights out and No Heavy Petting. UFO was awesome live saw them twice back with Schenker still in the band.

Michael Schenker is the guitar God. He was a founding member and lead guitarist of the Scorpions at 16 years old. Michael was the only guitarist at this time so all guitars, except for bass of course. They added a keyboardist that played some rhythm guitar later. Many consider Michael’s solo on “Rock Bottom” the best ever.

And this is on my top 7 solos of all time along with Tornado Of Souls, Villa Strangiato, Beyond The Realms Of Death, Cemetery Gates, Mr Crowley and Painkiller.

like deep purple,UFO has some of the best power guitar solos. here's another vote for you to listen to something from the live album "strangers in the night". it's killer start to finish, and their guitar solos are even better live!

Yum, UFO takes me back to dimly lit community house parties on the low-rent side of town, crowded with bodies and filled with smoke, and always loud music blasting from a stereo system in another room. UFO was a regular in those wide-ranging party music lineups.

This is such an over looked banger. Michael's solo will hold up against anybodys, like you said right from the first note. Another banger you'll like is Roller by April Wine, [long play studio version not the cut down radio version] a Canadian band...right from the first note Enjoy

I loved their album, "Lights Out", when I was in college. I finally saw them live in 2020 shortly before everything shut down. Of course only the singer and drummer were original members in this lineup. They still put on a tremendous show!

Iron Maiden and Metallica's riffs didn't come from nowhere. This is a Heavy Rock/early Metal Classic by Schenker and crew with a smokin solo as usual. This LP's cover by Hipgnosis who did all of their covers has a great visual joke in it if you look at it carefully . Hipgnosis started in 67 or 68 with Pink Floyd, but also did Peter Gabriel, Gentle Giant, T.Rex, The Nice, ELO, Led Zep, 10cc, Pretty Things, Wings, Black Sabbath......

UFO's best album is their live album "Strangers in the Night." It's worth a listen.
