The problem I have with Eric's "Its our tech" hypothesis is that these things have been witnessed and documented (even tic-tacs") since the early part of the last century. You could argue that we are getting close to this technology now, but you can't expect these programs to be active while the entire world was also at war. To me, the "military tech" hypothesis is a coping mechanism to deal with fear and uncertainty of the phenomena and what it might represent.

I'm not so sure I agree. We know all sorts of top secret military projects happened during the major wars in the past - anything to get an advantage over the enemy. What's to say some sort of UFO wasn't part of that? I think it's extremely likely that some of these kinds of projects happened during war time, because we've seen similar things with the "high risk, high reward" mentality such as the Manhattan Project.

Thanks Rep. Eric Burlison! 💪 I understand his inability to accept the UFOs are made by NHI, yet these extremely advanced objects have been seen for centuries & regularly observed by thousands around the world since WW2. Also even IF recent US UAP events are psy-ops, that doesn't explain the other events elsewhere. Humans aren't even CLOSE to the tech & physics knowledge required. IF the US has that knowledge, we could completely dominate the planet's energy & people. I take comfort in the idea, if these entities wanted to control the Earth, they could have done so hundreds of years ago.

Thanks for staying on top of the whole UAP thing. It's pretty weird that there's no cash or push for something that's got so many folks buzzing, right? I mean, if people are into it, you'd think the government might be all over it, just out of sheer curiosity, or because the public is into it. But then you see how they handle stuff overseas, or can't even get basic rights sorted out back home, and it's like, are they actually pulling off some massive cover-up, or do they just not have their act together?

Now you are begining to understand how powerful and far reaching the coverup is. When all major media outlets are beholden to the government and it's various agencies, the truth only comes through as a trickle. Unlike previous generations, we now have the internet to ensure that the coverup can no longer be maintained. It will take time.
@Nitidus
@Nitidus 6 ай бұрын
Sometimes I feel like you guys think like children. "The government", "the media", "the cover-up" do not exist. This isn't like three puppets sitting around a table talking to each other, do you understand? Both "the government" and "the media" are pluralistic groups of thousands and thousands of people, all of them with their own individual interests. They are not coherent bodies that all aim at the same goals. You totally don't get how incredibly complex a modern day government as large as the US's is, and the same goes for the media - or even more so, honestly, because the media isn't artificially restricted to a certain size. First of all, it is absolutely ridiculous to propose all of them would be controlled by whomever or all of them were working together on any sort of orchestrated cover-up. I've worked in the European Parliament and I've seen the complexity of Brussels's administrative apparatus with my own eyes. It is physically impossible to keep everyone there under one umbrella, no matter how unimaginably important a subject is. And I'm sure the US government is even crazier. So every time I read comments like the one above me claiming those ridiculous things, it feels like a first grader tries to make up some imagery in their mind to simplify something enough to be able to make sense of it what is apparently too big for their little brain to understand. Like, you have zero clue about instructional politics, you have never worked in any significantly large political enviroment. You have no insights whatsoever about how things work there. Instead you make up an adventure story in your mind that sounds like how you would imagine it and then push that as reality. But back to OP's comment about why the government doesn't push for a solution now that the public is so interested in the topic. Again, it's about my first paragraph. Yes, the US do have a rather strict governmental hierarchy because they are a presidential democracy - with emphasis on presidential rather than democracy. But despite how the system is perceived publicly, even the president can't simply say, "That's how I want it", and magically things are arranged accordingly. We do not live in a Hollywood movie and the real life's stories are longer than 90 minutes. Every little thing that needs change has a cascading effect through dozens of offices in several different branches of the government which are all intertwined and have overlapping areas of responsibility, and so on. And before someone cries about the government being too big: NO. That's how it works if you want to govern as big of a country - especially in today's tragically complicated world, especially while maintaining a ginormous defense sector like the US's. You have no idea how much work this is even for the most basic things. Regarding our little UFO debate, there would be a whole bunch of different interests colliding, and all the while there's this huge sword of Damocles hanging overhead, inscribed with "national security". Especially with the alleged black money involved, you will experience pushbacks against anything you do, even if you're literally part of the government, by people with power over their branch of the administration. People in the completely overblown defense sector with A LOT of said power and A LOT of influence and budget compared to any other area. It is just so easy to derail things if you are experienced and know what you're doing. It is so easy for the system to blockade itself. Very rarely we've seen presidents put their fist to the table and get everyone in line. Only when it's about some existential problem. Therefore, the public being interested in little green men might not at all be enough for the current administration to divert as much resources from other topics as would be needed. That is assuming they care about it at all in the first place. All of this is _so much more likely_ than any sort of large scale conspiracy. Yeah, maybe there's a (comparatively) small one to protect some intelligence agency that illegaly diverted funds or some people in the MoD who are corrupt. Whatever. We all know to what lengths US Departments go to protect their intelligence agencies from facing any repercussions for illegal actions. It doesn't mean the president is in on it or anything. And I would be VERY careful about how serious I take comments on the "Deep State" from representatives of the Trump party. It's been used as a hollow propaganda claim for almost ten years now. Trump vowed to drain the "swamp" that our Rep. here is talking about while in reality being the most corrupt president in IS history. Don't believe something only because it seems to confirm your prejudice. There's no room for biases in a scientific debate.

Some whistle-blower gets hyped up and we never get anywhere past a hearing and more questions. If this information is moved to private industry Congress says the matter is out of their hands. This will die down and in a few years there will be another sensational story from another insider that claims they have proof and again nothing will happen from it. This must be the 7th or 8th time that someone came along with a spectacular claims and swears they have proof but they never bring anything to the table besides talk. Thanks for the in-depth interview, John. I have three issues with Rep. Burlison, one technological, one relating to fundamental physics, and one relating to where to draw the line with disclosure. 1. Whether these crafts are the work of humans or of NHIs, they represent a leap ahead of current technologies several orders of magnitude greater than that of the Blackbird over existing technologies of its day. Nothing about the physics of the Blackbird would have come as a surprise to physicists of the day. Most of the technological pieces and processes had already been developed and in place elsewhere. That is not remotely the case here. Technological innovations are almost always already “in the air” before a massive breakthrough. The most famous example is the development of the atomic bomb. The Manhattan Project was one of those black-budget super-secretive programs, but Einstein and others had been discussing the physics of atomic weapons for decades. Exactly how to develop and deploy these was another matter, of course. 2. On to the physics implied by observing these anomalous craft which hint at the extent of the leap we’d have to make. They seem to take advantage of anti-gravitic and anti-inertial properties. Contrary to Burlison, the Higgs field is not responsible for the gravitational field. The Higgs imparts mass to elementary particles like electrons and quarks. But this is only responsible for a very small portion of the mass of objects which are instead defined by Einstein’s most famous E=mc2 equation. The vast majority of our mass, or the mass of a UAP for that matter, comes from the binding energy of the strong force that binds those quarks together into protons and neutrons. Manipulating the Higgs field does not get you anti-gravitic technologies. 3. To change how gravity affects mass is a whole other kettle of fish and would require mind-boggling energies. Therein lies the rub about disclosure. It is often said that the public has a right to know if we are sharing this Earth with NHIs. Sure. But Burlison, like many others, draws the line at sharing the technology with the public because it could be used by competitor nation-states or non-state actors to negate US strategic advantage. He would like the US to have exclusive rights to “weaponize” this technology. Whatever you think of this argument, my point is that the public has another stake in these technologies: they represent in effect a revolution in energy production and distribution that has the capacity to transform our world, free us from our greenhouse gas-producing infrastructure, and much much more besides. Given the state of the world (climate change and hostilities over oil and other resources), I think we need to push for the release of these technologies in a form we can use now.

Well your congressman just pretty much ruled out “non human intelligence” which is very foolish in my opinion, especially when you take into consideration the entirety of the subject and it’s historical references and also sworn testimony of trained fighter pilots and ALSO direct confirmation from a high ranking intelligence official who investigated this very claim and found it to be urgent and credible! So your congressman looked and listend to all that evidence and testimony and his first thought was “I find it hard to believe it’s an alien civilization from light years away” ……….lol. As a republican I’m actually quite offended

That's not necessary true. Not sure if this is true but it well may be.... Gorbachev visited Reagan in the 80s. Reagan really wanted to stop the cold war (or be known as the man who stopped it) So he did something that I suspect no president could today. He took Gorbs to our skunk works facility. Showed him enough advanced tech that Gorbechev realized it was a futile effort. Shortly there after the wall came down..... Unfortunately that didn't defeat communism. It just allow it to spread... that's a different topic though. Sounds like something Reagan would do....do I believe it? I give it 75 chance it's real.

Still, that doesn't immediately imply aggression. People could get killed from exposure to unknown tech just like how a bird would die from being exposed to the turbine of a plane. That's what Grusch is probably pointing to. If they were aggressive, I think we would know by now. The only scenario I can imagine any hostile interloper wouldn't have a large impact in the safety of the planet would be if their numbers and the resources they manage aren't enough to take us down, so it makes little sense to try an "invasion". I suspect rather that the "malevolent" activity is deactivation of military equipment (accidental or intentional) because the military are WAY too sensible to having their "key strategic" assets disabled or rendered innefective. Those snafus really spooks them.

The UAP hearings were the first time I've seen excellent bi-partisan work in more than a decade. This seems to be one subject where republicans and democrats are in full accord, and I wish republicans were more like this in other hearings. I hope the committee keeps digging out the infection.

My biggest hangup with all this is that it would take mindblowing amounts of energy to manipulate the Higgs field directly, using our current, public understanding of physics. If this has changed, then we're looking at things as far out as warp drives suddenly being within the realm of plausibility.

My issue with term limits is that they arbitrarily throw out the good with the bad. Good, experienced politicians exist, and that experience matters. Ranked Choice voting would be a great start, and it's an entirely non-partisan solution.
