Uganda is such a naturally beautiful country. The cities, villages, and towns, in general, are not very attractive, but the countryside looks like what one imagines the garden of Eden looked like. Nathanael did an amazing job photographing and handling the various reptiles and in explaining the biology and intricacies of each one. I do not care for snakes at all, but I do like learning about them, and I enjoyed this documentary very much. Thank you for posting this documentary.

I absolutely love all of wildlife and I thank you very much for caring and sharing your story and experience I would really like to know more about the laws of Uganda for wildlife do they have laws against poaching or trapping of wildlife there are many stories out there on different countries that permit atrocities against wildlife so I want to make sure I’m not supporting people or these countries that don’t care for its wildlife thank you I guess I’ll try to read more about the country because this is super incredible and fascinating

Your video made me suspicious about my environment, so I had to close my door for my comfort. In my childhood, these creatures were common. Grazing animals and working in the fields was dangerous, as at any moment you could encounter them. Monitor lizards were believed to be able to suckle milk from cows by tying their tails to the cow's legs, preventing it from moving away. We also believed that if one struck its tail on your legs, it would leave an incurable wound. Nasi comis were also very common, especially in heaps of harvested remains and potato plantations when they grew bushy. There were deadly species, though local remedies were available for treatment. However, some victims could end up with permanent leg disabilities. Pythons were common, especially because they targeted goats. If a goat was tied, the python would often be trapped and struggle to get away. People generally killed them for their oil, and rarely for their skin. There were also cobras in various sizes: small ones about 0.6 meters, medium ones around 1.2 meters, and large ones that could reach lengths of over 2 meters. I remember one event when a classmate almost picked up a coiled cobra, thinking it was a piece of black plastic from a distance. As she got closer, she realized it was a huge snake and ran for her life. People around gathered to kill it, but guess what? Anyone who raised their hand while looking at the snake would find it chasing them! No matter its defense mechanisms, it was eventually killed. It measured about 2.5 meters. In those old days, grazing animals and cultivation were the major activities, and coming across one of these creatures was a common experience! Thanks, Maury. Get time visit the Eastern Part as well! Regards, George from the East of Uganda, watching from the West Nile Region.
