@@johnbrown7802 Does Weird looking make it a P.O.S.? Function often times isn't pretty. Pickup trucks are "Stupid Expensive" and you can pay $5000- 10,000 extra for a diesel. I'm with you on everything. I love the small man that is willing to try something new and something safer and to hell with the cost. I also hate seeing polished salesmen, I don't trust any of them. I like the salesman that has to go look up something cause he is not sure, that is good, he is not talking bullshit then, The polished salesman will quote something off the top of his head just to get the sale. I'm with you on manufacturers trying to do something new. Shame the car didn't make it. Not the best looking, but but it had new ideas that should maybe have been put into cars. Hands up for the individual small man with new ideas, it is them that push new ideas and make things move forward.

I have to say the design has grown on me. But the thing i really like it that it feels like he it trying to say to all the other car makers everything you design looks the same make something different. we are are on the verge of the biggest shift in car history since the internal combustion engine, why shouldn't we have some fun with the design of vehicles. I know others will disagree but i like that it is unpainted stainless steel, to me as a work vehicle that makes sense and i could totally see them flying a couple to mars and with the ultra rugged design they would be ideal.

@0ooTheMAXXoo04 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of favorable views from people who actually use pickup trucks for their utility. It really seems that the weird design is a result of Tesla trying to make as great of an electric pickup truck as possible. The looks then are tweaked within the parameters of keeping the utility.

It’s not our generation that’s going to like the looks of it, it’s clearly our kids that will like it for their own reasons. That’s where I think Tesla will be successful with this Truck. I can remember when people thought the newer mustang design of the 80’s was ugly, now people growing up during that time desire them, or the change in the camero, or the corvette... for that matter the Ford pickup’s changes 80’s, 90’s and the last 15 years. Ford knocked on the aluminum body, how it won’t hold up, even Chevy commercials showing the bed felling with a load of stuff dropped in it... people are afraid of change, more than anything, and that drives the hundreds of comments seen below. I’m with you on this, it’s the future, and despite my personal opinions of how ugly it is, all driven by fear of change might I add, I still commend Tesla for putting it out there. My bets on they will be successful with it.

Best vid I've seen so far on the truck. As for the looks, its throwing people off because they have a truck image in their mind. Get rid of that. Its a military style vehicle. More Humvee then pickup. The flat angle design is like a tank not a truck. Everything screams armored personnel carrier. The hardened angled rustproof steel,the hardened flat angled glass, the exoskeleton frame, flat bottom, low center of gravity,can forge deep water and of course all the off road capabilities it has. This thing does everything a real truck is supposed to do. It even has onboard power and compressor. If you wont buy it because they didnt make it pretty enough for you then you dont actually need a truck in the first place. And the price to buy and operate is low. They might get a military contract or 2 for these. Adding more armour and accessories would be ridiculously easy with the flat design.

The specs suck, when you compare it to comparably priced ICE trucks. Come on 39,000$ for RWD not 4x4, 250 mile range, 7500lbs towing. 0-60 in 7 seconds. That's like paying top dollar for a stripped out work truck. Sorry the tesla is ugly and the specs suck! This thing won't last long if it even makes it to market. Kiss your $100...

@@Brian-ff7tw Hmm: - How many of those come with 110v/220v outlets and an air compressor standard? Operate a table saw? Run a little cooler in the woods? Emergency home power backup? No problem. - How many of those come with a body that's bulletproof, rust proof and scratch resistant? - How many of those have instant electric traction that's two orders of magnitude more responsive to slip? - How many of those are almost immune to hydroplaning and extremely resistant to rollovers? - How many of those have zero tailpipe emissions? No smog test required. - How many of those have the equivalent fuel efficiency of over 70mpg? - How many of those can be equipped with solar panels bed covers, adding 15 miles per day of range while parked? - How many of those come with autopilot as standard? - How many of those come with a built-in ramp? - How many of those have adjustable dynamic air suspension with controllable tilt and auto-balance ability? - How many of those have the option of redundant motors that can keep the car driving if one of them fails? - How many of those are immune to hydro-locking when in a large body of water? - How many of those come with something like sentry mode? Eight built-in motion sensing cameras, recording events around the vehicle from all directions, notifying owner by phone of potential attacks and intrusions, and able to provide the police with footage of any incidents, intrusions or accidents etc, if needed? - How many of those get over the air updates that increases performance, range, diagnostics, repairs and features for free? - How many of those let you park and watch KZbin or Netflix on a 17 inch screen with surround speakers on a road trip? - How many of those come with an auto-retractable bed cover that's strong enough to stand on? - How many of those come with a large hidden compartment under the bed, and another large front compartment where the engine is supposed to be, big enough to fit a deer? - How many of them can smoke a Porsche at the stop light? Lots of people would pay extra for some or all of those features. Yet they come standard - except solar panels and additional motors - even in the baseline 39k Cybertruck package, let alone the higher end three motor trim going for 69k.

Ok Mark - you gotta admit it looks like a BD-4 made into a bad ass truck. I once flew in a Corvette powered BD-4 that won a CAFE trophy and it sounded awesome revving up for T/O! BTW ...I ordered one too! :))

All other trucks just breathed a sigh of relief because no self respecting truck owner will ever ditch his Ford, Chevy, or Dodge for this abomination.

@Frank Speaking No government agency is going to waste money on that. They all have government contracts with Ford and other manufacturers for diesel and gas vehicles because they are way cheaper and easier to repair. You really think the US military would buy a cybertruck???

@@Maverick0420 you are right, respecting ford owners bla bla bla... Brain washed... Smart people that realize is a better investment will change their trucks... People that base their thoughts on how they feel will keep wasting money...

@@Maverick0420 sorry to be the party pooper, but the military and multiple police departments have already looked at the truck for many different applications. I mean bruh its 9m bulletproof at base price and a tank design on top of that. With some of the best off-roading specs available also at base price lol. I guess time will tell

We live in a world of fake people ,great you see it too ? Nice truck
@0ooTheMAXXoo04 жыл бұрын
The fact that many have pre-ordered despite not 100% liking the looks or even finding it ugly should tell you that the functionality is off the charts. Fake people waffle or stick to the well-known while the internet has tons of testimonials from actual truck users who love the cybertruck mainly for its functionality at those price points. For some, the functionality must be a great reason to convince themselves to get this bad-ass looking vehicle they otherwise could not buy.

Mark, Your comments are great. I too through the truck was ugly and underwhelming. I thought the windows shattering were also cringe worthy. However, your comments are so true. My opinion of Tesla is restored and I love the way you and your family (Brother) think and live. I’m a believer. A Patey believer. In you and almost everything you guys do. You’re motivating.
