Matt that was great. When you started on the Lightning towing I was aware how good the GM or Sierra is so not surprised when you spelled it out. As a Tesla owner I smiled a lot on the touch the brake and drive. When I catch an EV with the start button I always forget and always ask myself "why is this here?" Heads up display is one of my fav features. Why does Tesla not have it? Thanks for the reviews. I knew you and Mike had electric trail bikes and always wondered about not seeing any EVs. Cool to learn Watt you're doing.

Awesome review! Do you think 18” wheels would help the gmc ride? Is it much or just slightly louder than the lightning? I also want a quiet isolated ride but I like everything else of the gmc.

I started off wanting a solar powered Ring camera for my shed until I saw how much the little Ring solar panel was. I originally bought a larger 10 watt solar panel for it, but have since gone deep down the rabbit hole of solar. Amazon has 12v USB-C PD chargers, so you can hook a couple of those up in parallel to the battery to power the Ring cameras, and they should act like they're plug-in cameras vs solar powered cameras. You won't have to deal with the DC/AC inverter nor its losses. Also, you didn't mention which battery you're using, but Redodo has self-heating 12v 100ah batteries on sale right now, which will protect the battery from being charged below freezing, but also heat the battery so it can be charged without damage. I don't have starlink, so I'm not aware if you can do a direct 12v connection to it, but I'm sure some ham radio youtuber has already done it!

Are you sure the ring cameras aren't already DC powered? Every one of the power outputs that are standard removable I can find on Ring's website all output DC. If the power is removable from the Ring camera, I would bet you can ditch the inverter.

I know you mentioned you are in the Ring camera ecosystem, but you should really consider some UniFi gear. It would give you a lot more flexibility. The Protect app is great…and there is no monthly charge.

We did something similar, and we discovered we had to bury our batteries below the frost line to maintain their capacity. We ran the wire up inside the pole.

Almost all of the theft that occurs is organized crime by the mafia cartel(Highest level of the military) whenever this happens, people need to sit back and reflect on themselves and all their past actions and think about “what did I do to deserve this”.

Whatever you are doing with solar, at least double it. But The snow will burn you. You are better off setting at least one 90 degrees vertical, in the correct series vs parallel configuration. This will ensure you have no loss of power unless snowfall hits the bottom of your panel that is vertical. Now remember you are just trying to catch a person, a person during winter that is likely to be fully covered head to toe without issue during winter conditions. Cameras only deter people that aren't idiots. If these people are repeat offenders, then that is your only hope. And in this position you might be right. I would put up trail cameras along the driving path to get to this location. At least you could get car, or license plate ID. Maybe put camera signs at the beginning of the property, legal or not to place them there, they will only be removed if someone wants to. Good luck, and fuck thieves, but you have to start thinking like one to get even, and I hope they get caught. Hard earned money isn't easy.

@CaysonPatey LiFePO4 can be USED down to about -4F, but should never be charged below 32F. Some LiFePO4 batteries have low temperature cutoff which should protect against that, and fewer have self-heating capabilities.

Definitely 1% problems,, gotta be tough, having to keep your personal snow cat outside unguarded,, in a private community.. ever heard of trailhead crime? is why noone leaves anything in the NF long unattended.. Why dont you and a few neighbors build a pole barn, keep your valuables out of sight? Probably liberal immigrants stealing to support pink heroin cartels and pet eating.
