The au is this Mapleshade instead of manipulating crookedkit she is like a mother to him and because of her good deed when crookedstar dies he leads her to starclan to be with her kits!

@@eninemire17 she’s more like a mother to him in my au too, or a godmother if you will. basically in my au reedshine leaves appledusk and defends mapleshade instead, but darkstar still sends maple away. mapleshade doesn’t have the same issues, she still kills appledusk but not ravenwing or frecklewish. reedshine goes on to live a long time, names one of her kits after mapleshade instead of appledusk, and defends crookedstar against rainflower with the help of mapleshade’s spirit (she and appledusk killed each other). only reedshine and crookedstar can see mapleshade’s spirit

I like to think that in this AU, instead of being jealous of Sandstorm like she is in OOTS, she's jealous of Rainflower, and hates her for not being "grateful" for having everything Mapleshade wanted but couldn't have, so she decides to be a good mother figure to Crookedkit just to spite her

I really like the idea of Mapleshade initially trying to use Crookedkit to get revenge on Appledusk's bloodline, but then becoming too attached and redeeming herself by becoming a mother figure to him.

THIS MAP IS SO CUTE!!! i wish mapleshade had some remorse for what she did and tried to make up for what she did for bringing light into crookedstar's life, her being terrible was needed for his story but this is one of my favorite aus just for the wholesome factor :)
