Important to mention that I don't have mine connected to power, just the USBs that goes to either the PC or laptop and no issues. @@rhamz5073 They would probably be fine. In any case, all you need to do is add the power cable!
@ner0p4 жыл бұрын
Actually the (optional) microUSB 5v power adapter is only needed if more power is required like for powering and external 2.5" hard drive (especially mechanic), and other such devices that are more power hungry than the power already being drawn from the upstream computer ports (0.5A each if USB 2.0 or 0.9A each if USB 3.0). Let's assume you are connecting them to 2x USB3 ports, then you'd have 1.8A to spare without the external microUSB power adapter. That is enough for a mouse and a keyboard, and even a USB flash drive, but if one of the computers is turned off I would assume that you would only get 0.9A, in which case it would probably only be appropriate for the mouse and keyboard.

You don't need to worry. It is a Serial Bus and the signal just gets carried further, there will only be as much latency as there is cable length, which isn't even noticable. For only I/O Devices there is also no bandwidth limiting that could occur, even with some high performance SSDs, if they overpopulate the bus, the I/O Operations of Mouse and Keyboard usually are not affected. There is the possibility for a little more noise in the signal, you would only notice that on a USB headset for example, but even then some ferrit beads can help out.

nvm i found the answer. either way i love the product, but sadly i can not risk it since i do like to run free on my not main pc ;l Connecting peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, and speakers to a PC introduces potential data leakage and hacking risks. There are no filters nor is there data detection and protection features between the PC and peripherals using traditional KVM Switches. Put simply, sensitive or classified information is far too important to be left unsecure.
