Yes it works perfectly as well, as long as it is connected to the switcher.

So will this work with a setup where your running two monitors: one external to pc1 and one external to pc2, and i want to switch control with one monitor having control of two monitors with the switch? So pc1 connects to both external, pc2 connects to both external, etc?

For me, the monitor I am using as an option to switch from VGA to DVI, that is how I change my monitor from one laptop to another. I think it will depend on your Monitor, but I am guessing that all monitor has that feature nowadays. The one that I am using was an old one, which led me to this setup, which still works good up to now :)

Do you think we can use a usb 3.0 to hdmi adapter (for monitor w/ hdmi) so that we don't need to switch the monitor (e.g. hdmi to vga or vga to hdmi) ?

Yup works perfectly fine, using it to play axie on my gaming laptop and switch to my work laptop :)

How has the KVM unit held up? I am deeply considering one since I am constantly switching between my work and personal laptops - all on the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

To be honest it's holding up pretty well, I am still using it with no problem since I uploaded the video, I use my personal laptop for trading and other for work, so I switch very often, and it's preety cheap for it's price. But it do the job for me.

So far I am using a wireless mouse when I have made this setup and it still works fine, also used it playing Diablo 3 and I have no issue with it.
