I have this trap. Only thing I've caught in it so far is a squirrel 😅

Did you make that yourself? Looks like a home made. Looks great

No it’s made by someone called Matthew Uhlic. There’s a video on KZbin by him showcasing his trap and saying how to get it though

The Rintrap system is FAR simpler and cheaper, and only needs a 5 gal bucket, a lid with bait and a flipper/chute, and a small ramp for rats & mice to get up to the lid when they smell the peanut butter. Works great. I bought one on Amazon for like $25, and can be rigged non-lethal or lethal (partially fill with several inches of water).

Drowning is not humane. 😡.

@@ANONIE47 Kindly point your disapproving scowl elsewhere, because I only use it in the dry configuration. FWIW, you're deluded if you think nature is in any way more humane ... consider how housecats typically spend a good 20+ mins treating them like a judo dummy and chew toy, prior to eating them (often while still alive). Given a choice (drowning vs slowly beaten to near death, then consumed while still alive), i'd rather drown ... and I dont say that lightly, because ive actually been rescued at sea by the coast guard.

I am very pleased to read in your email that you only use it dry. However, you did recommend drowning in your original post as a lethal method. There are more humane ways of killing trapped rodents than drowning. I'm in the UK. Drowning is illegal here.

@@ANONIE47 If you reread my OP, you will see that I did NOT recommend anything on the use of water ... I simply listed the device's ability to be used either way. Apparently, you saw what you wanted to see in that sentence, which (guess) was an opportunity to climb up on an imaginary moral high horse. I sometimes fall prey to the same, so no harm no foul.

By mentioning the water, you implied your acceptance of that method of killing. Maybe the USA needs to review it's legislation regarding the humane killing of pests. The UK is also in the process of banning Glue Traps. As far as I know the only lawful means of killing captured rodents in the UK is by shooting or gassing. There may be some other lawful and humane methods. 🙂.
