If you have it on camera and someone tries to get you on a scam just say "ok, lets get the police over and get details sorted" let them make their statement to the police, signed and THEN mention you have a camera this will land them in far more trouble and actually get them off the streets for a day
@MDP1702
@MDP1702 2 жыл бұрын
exactly, if you say you have it on camera, they'll likely just leave and try it with someone else. If it is on their police file that they already tried such scams, they'll have more difficulty doing that in the future. And it doesn't really help if you go to the police afterwards, considering it be pretty difficult to identify a cyclist, police likely wouldn't even attempt it then.

@@gibbogibbogibbo I get it Both drivers appeared to be road raging each other But driving a HGV especially with a company logo....HGV driver should be screwed (out of a job/cancelled HGV licence would be the minimum I'd expect with a reputable company) - it's their responsibility to ensure their drivers are competent and responsible. Any decent driver affected by road rage would pull over a call the police (moreso for the HGV - that's why they have to pass an additional driving test). Simple answer....get a dashcam and if you have a near miss/incident/idiot capture the event and report it then upload it. Don't seek revenge especially when your driving something bigger with a logo.

Yep, HGV pointlessly in the wrong lane at Sketchley Lane and this has potentially started a fair bit further back. '07 plate on a white HGV makes it too old for regular running but DPD have two depots along that stretch of the A5 and use older tractor units for shuttle work between them. I often see them being driven really badly, so I'd say that this is a likely suspect and TBH, brake-checking a 44 tonner is a truly crap plan, so the final outcome does seem to have a certain inevitability to it.

@Kris Nicholson No - that situation is what we have now, and while you might drive with courtesy, many people don't. I drive and I cycle, and I can tell you from experience that things needed to change. Pedestrian and cyclist deaths have actually risen in the UK for the first time in years. All these changes do is put the onus on the users of the vehicles that do the most damage to ensure they look out for the safety of more vulnerable roads users - it won't mean cyclists or pedestrians can just do what they like.

2:53 Clip 5 could probably benefit from our cammer trying to drive in a staggered formation. The Mazda driver should have known better and gone the wrong way for their journey instead of driving dangerously, but good drivers accommodate for the poor driving of others. If our cammer had kept the Mazda in front of them but in the left lane, it would have been easier to brake and let them continue round instead of essentially needing to swerve to avoid. People miss road markings and signs, especially when following a SatNav unsure of what to be looking out for. People who get confused or are in the wrong lane should only try to change their course if it is safe to do so, and go the wrong way if they cannot, but many view the route they need to go as absolute and will see any risk as necessary to stay on track. Always drive safe, even if it results in you being a little late, very late, or completely missing whatever it is you're getting to. Very often, driving dangerously to make work or an appointment doesn't save time at all. Traffic calming measures like lights, speed bumps, and roundabouts will often render your increased speeds or risk taking ultimately useless. It might make a difference on dual carriageways and motorways, but there runs the added risk that any meaningful increase in speed will result in being caught and fined, maybe even being delayed further by being stopped. Overall, there aren't really any situations where you can save meaningful time on a journey without a high risk of repercussions

@goodguykonrad3701
@goodguykonrad3701 2 жыл бұрын
I mean, I don't want to start an argument but your use of the phrase "fast lane" is a little troubling. We see a motorway with three lanes, named lanes 1-3 going left to right. Lanes 2 and 3 are not fast lanes, they are just for overtaking. You should always try to move back over to the left when not overtaking anything in that lane. People all too often think they should remain in whatever lane their speed is suited for instead of responding dynamically to the traffic with overtaking and finding gaps. Anyway, hope you're doing well. The fact that your watching videos like this and commenting suggests that you are interested in improving your driving, which is the most important thing. And you're absolutely right, the traffic in the other lanes was moving too quickly for queuing traffic in lane 3

Then there was absolutely no need to move out of lane 1, but instead he moves across THREE lanes, and with no more than one signal! He says he fully checked his mirrors, but failed to see the car that undertook him moments later! He also overtook a car that was moving into lane 2 (who also failed to see the fast car), assuming that he would not also move into lane 3. When you get onto a motorway you should stay in lane 1, cancel the indicator, assess the situation, and only then consider a lane change.

Normally. Yep. I’m sure a lot of people will berate the BMW, but it remains a that the points you make are valid. Although if we take the cammer text as true, then it’s possible the BMW was simply under cutting rather than being in lane 3 or 2 and having to brake , swerve etc. That said, still every chance the BMW gathered pace quicker, and is something we all have to be aware of before pulling out ourselves.
