Have lived as an expat and read the Riot Act to a couple of staff asking for money. Told them the poor women cleaning roads were on beggars wages. Hand book for expats warn that NEVER give cash hand outs to staff. Mine asked for 1yr loan free advance salary.

We keep hearing these stories over and over again. Why are people not learning from others. This is not the first stories I am hearing about these U.K. scammers. More of their victims are in Nigeria. I saw several cases profiled on the Human Rights television show, Brekete Family program. It is exactly this same story but different victims. I am ashamed of my people. A you rightly said, it is so hard to earn a pound, a dollar or Euro especially for us foreigners. To have someone just sit and think they can just take it, is very appalling.
