Enjoyed watching that Kate. You looked smooth as silk around that track. Great stuff.

I’m so glad you returned to CSS for Level II. I love CSS (and especially the people) here in the US and have had the pleasure of working with a few of the UK coaches who periodically come over to visit the mothership. Once you arrive at Level IV the coaching and consultation (by two different people) becomes ever more detailed and individualized. As you mentioned, the feeling of having the pieces come together as you progress is wonderful. Not only does the knowledge you gain help improve your street riding and increase the safety margin, but I also find it spills over, to some extent, into driving as well, for example learning to use wide view and avoid distractions and tunnel vision. Congratulations and thank you for the great video!

Hi Kate as always a very nice video. How about a shout out for Keith Code without him there would be no California superbike school. He is the Yoda of track instruction you can listen to him all day so much information. still gets out on track at 73 years young.

I'm a frequent user of my rear brake while riding. When I slow down I generally use both brakes as i've been learned. Especially with a emergency stop or harder stop. Obviously the front has the most stopping power and use that most, but I do tend to have the rear brake in as well. When entering a corner after I slowed down enough with the front brake, I generally use the rear brake only to brake the remaining bit and then slow down and take a corner with then obviously no more rear brake. To me this seems normal. But I do hear people say they barely use the rear brake or never on street. That does seem kinda weird to me. 😆 But this being taught at a track riding oriented school makes me think it's not weird that I use it even though it's on the street. Love to hear other peoples opinion on this as well.

Keith Code's "Twist of the Wrist" books had a huge impact on my riding in the 1980's. To me, it's all applied Newtonian physics. So few people know calculus and physics, that I guess it's just as well that it's never mentioned. Braking marker, corner turn in, apex, corner exit. Camber, radius, elevation (uphill/downhill), radius, traction and number of degrees of the turn (you have to know where the apex is at the corner entry). Spring force, damping force, force of acceleration (inertia), centrifugal force, force of gravity. Not much on the traction circle (justification for trail braking and accelerating out of the turn) but it's well covered elsewhere. I'm sure it's a wonderful experience.

I have done all 4 Levels Of CSS at Phillip Island and while I felt it was good to be in a learning environment I never really gelled with the teaching process. It wasn't until I watched Simon Crafar's MotoVudu series that things made sense to me on the bike and quickly my anxiety went away and my speed, confidence and safety went way up. Maybe It's a learning preference but I would highly recommend the MotoVudu series over the CSS program.

Your comment is evidence you know little of what’s taught, its application to ALL riding scenarios, and the limit of your ability. You cannot teach someone who thinks they know it all. I’ve ridden for 40+ years and have been through this program a few times, repeating levels for the benefit of technical training in a controlled environment. Each time I emerge a better road rider. Each time I get faster on track. These programs are taught by professional racers who know a great deal more about riding than you. Swallow your hubris and go learn something.
