Good to see you back Mr Scott, it's your channel and you can do what you like, take in consideration that the better the quality the more data is used and on a phone or tablet the difference between a 4k and 1080p is not that much personally, and on the desktop for a 4k youtube clip you need a pretty good gaming pc to stop the buffering. Safe driving out there, alot of people have forgotten how to drive.

Great to have you back. Regarding monetising, "Do what you have to Do", be it a one of or small regular payment. You provide some unique footage for our benefit, why should you be out of pocket, especially in current times, it must be financially draining. I hope to many people do not think as you said "I will still do it" therefore just freeload. To many are wanting everything FOC. Good luck and stay safe and healthy.

anthony paterson I don’t want any payments from anybody mate monetisation just means KZbin pay me a small percentage of revenue from ads in the videos. I would never ask anybody for any money, nobody asked me to buy any of the stuff I’ve bought and I wouldn’t expect anybody else to donate towards it. Monetisation means I get money from KZbin and KZbin only

Hey Dan, its great to see you back on the channel, and that you’ve been keeping well & busy! About the Monetization of your channel and just an Observation about Adobe Premiere Pro on the Mac that you MAY (0r may not) have. I think you absolutely SHOULD monetize the channel because for one it will pay for the equipment that you’ve invested in, and maybe you should think about having a Merch Shop (T-Shirts, Mugs, Caps etc) that kind of thing, of course this would depend on what other viewers of the channel think & this could also go toward things so you wouldn’t have to pay out of your own pocket! About Premiere Pro, its a really great piece of Pro editing software... but its not quite (from what I’ve heard) as Optimized for the Mac Platform, as it is running on Windows Machine, so you may experience longer wait-times when Exporting the kind of High-Quality Footage that you will be shooting. This might not be an issue, as it isn’t always! if you bought Final Cut Pro (which is Mac Only & Optimized for it) this wouldn’t be an issue, like I said earlier, I’m just pointing out an observation and still think Premiere Pro is still MORE than good enough, so you should stick with what you have for a good while! I hope you do go down the monetization route as I’m really looking forward now to what you have planned. Keep on trucking Dan & Stay Safe out there!
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
Paul Guy I weighed them both up before I made the decision but premiere pro definitely seems to be the more widely used and there are lots of useful videos and tutorials on KZbin. I’m sure there are just as many for final cut but it just seems to be the more popular choice premiere pro and I certainly enjoy using it from what I’ve done so far.

Great news to see your back on the road and continuing to blog 👏👏👏 Ref monetizing the channel, personally I don't agree that anyone should charge even if it's obviously a subscribers option to sign up or not. There's been to many UK trucker bloggers of late offering the same option, some even offering a £14.99 monthly option which is bloody ridiculous but if people choose to sign up then thats there choice. Least you had the gonads to be up front and honest about your reasons and that you'd go with the majority. What costs would you be looking at offering? Have you thought about maybe asking for one off donations to help off set the cost off the gear you've already bought, I'd donate for 👍
@d1986scott4 жыл бұрын
Chris Ryan hi, I won’t ever go down the subscription route as I don’t think my videos justify anybody paying to see them and I don’t think it’s fair that some people should see things and others shouldn’t. Monetising the channel means KZbin would pay me a percentage of revenue based on the views of the adverts they place on my videos. This means it makes no difference to you as a subscriber, nothing changes and I’m not sure you even notice any difference. Just that I am eligible to get money from KZbin for the adverts. I would never ask anybody to donate or pay anything. That’s why I considered monetisation as it makes no difference to subscribers
@chrisryanst4 жыл бұрын
@@d1986scott Thanks for the reply, I misunderstood the monetizing aspect but now you've explained that you not going down the sponsor route and that your basically asking you're subscribers would we mind if you let YT add adverts and you receive a revenue for that then by all means do it , as explained your quality will massively improve so I for one could put up with a few adds 😀 😉
