Phil Campbell (United Kingdom) (Salesman from Lee-on-Solent, Gosport, Hampshire) versus David Wallis (Australia) (Tour guide from Sydney)
Notes: This is the first Ashes series of Gladiators being located at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia with only UK airings with the commentator, John Sachs, and the format from the Australian Gladiators series.
The first Ashes series only has four events, plus the Eliminator at the end.
Absent: Flame, Fury, and Tower (Australia).

Thanks for uploading once again. Over the last few weeks to mark the 25th anniversary of UK gladiators, I have been watching these shows on KZbin from the beginning. I had them all recorded on VSH from the original airing, but after years of stored in suitcases in the attic and technology advancing, I has to throw them out. It's interesting this series 1 of The Ashes. I really enjoyed seeing our glads perform in the Australian arena. They do have a slight disadvantage here. There is uploads on here off the Australian version of this season. Nightshade and Kerry's bridge battle was rematched as Kerry illegally pushed Nightshade off the bridge and was disqualified. Nightshade requested for a rematch. She certainly made up for the other girl glads bad performances in this show. It's a pity Falcon, Zodiac, Panther, Saracen, Trojan and Cobra could not had been involved in this also with a longer series.

Keryn is bloody good at the Eliminator. Must be one of the best woman contestants, she did the whole course apart from the travelator in under a minute!

Gladiators loved pitting contenders with similar names against each other, didn't they??????/ Here we have Kerry and Kerryn, and in series 2 of UK Gladiators, there was an episode with two women named Rowan and Rhian, and the male contenders in that same episode were called Gary and Glen!!!!!

i know i've probably mentioned this is another video, but its a real shame that the uk version of pyramid wasnt like the australian version, coz you can clearly tell that their version of the event was a lot safer, with the steps being a lot softer, if the uk had the same kind of pyramid as australia did, the event would have lasted until the last uk domestic series, with a lot less serious injuries, i reckon!!

Both UK and Australia showed the same thing. It was a co-production, mixed crew broadcast, much like International Gladiators, there was no separate UK and Australia versions.

There was separate ‘feeds’ for the Australian and UK audiences for The Ashes. The Australian feed has the Australian commentator instead of John Sachs. With Australian TV having more ads (hence only the 4 events instead of 5), there were more Time Outs during the show (as we saw in this episode) on the UK version to pad out the episode. The Australian feeds for both Ashes series’ are out on KZbin as well.
