In a talk to an Israeli group in July, 2010, Sheldon Adelson (Trump Mega Donor) said he wished he had served in the Israeli Army rather the U.S. military-and that he hoped his young son will come back to Israel and “be a sniper for the IDF,” a reference to the Israel Defense Forces. (KZbin video of speech) “I am not Israeli. The uniform that I wore in the military, unfortunately, was not an Israeli uniform. It was an American uniform, although my wife was in the IDF and one of my daughters was in the IDF … our two little boys, one of whom will be bar mitzvahed tomorrow, hopefully he’ll come back- his hobby is shooting - and he’ll come back and be a sniper for the IDF,” Adelson said at the event. “All we care about is being good Zionists, being good citizens of Israel, because even though I am not Israeli born, Israel is in my heart,” he said toward the end of his talk.

The real scary thing is, that this is not only happening in UK, but also in US, in Germany and probably some other countries. That a lobby-group has so much power to influence politics worldwide to a degree where democratic principles and human rights are wiped out, is horrifying!
@ryanf64277 сағат бұрын
Why do you think so many countries have had what are essentially middle-managers installed as their leaders (yes I know they won elections, but only because of the propaganda supported by the lobbying powers-that-be who employ the psychologists who know all too well how to pull on the heartstrings of the public). Look at Trudeau, Macron, Sunak and Starmer, and many of the other Western presidents and PMs in recent years. They're not leaders, they're management types. And what do managers have to do, even if they were the CEO of a company? Appease the shareholders. Even Trump, as a CEO of his own businesses had to do so. So they're already well versed in appeasing those who hold themselves above. In the case of politics it's not shareholders, but lobbyists and NGOs who believe themselves above governments (and above the law in a lot of cases). The west needs leaders with backbones who will push back on the lobbyists and do what's actually right for their people, but they'd all rather line their own pockets and don't have the foresight to see the longterm results of their actions, even though they always claim to do things differently if they get elected. Such is the era of the midwit managerial states.

Sorry, but the "lobby group(s)" are a scapegoat for western imperialism. Israelite's are the cannon fodder, used to suppress and subjugate the middle-east, with a side-helping of antisemitism, as Israel's seen as a place to force Jewish people out of countries, into Israel. Then there's those really, really awful people, the Christian Zionists who believe in the second-coming ... but I don't know how significant their influence is.

The 'they're all the same' attitude is ironically one of the main reasons why the two main parties are so similar right now. When Labour try to be different, when they try to put the interests of regular people before corporate interests, they get called communists, others insist they're still 'the same' and don't vote, and they end up getting hammered in elections. Instead of going after the votes of people who are just going to call him a Marxist and, or, insist he's no different to a Tory, Starmer went after voters who regularly vote: moderate conservatives. Labour only got back into power, in a landslide, when they became virtually identical to the Tories. What incentive is there to be different if it's going to lose you an election? The British people don't want positive change. The winning message of every election since 2010 has been the right wing message: vote for me and I'll hurt you but I'll hurt your social inferiors even more.

All part of the plan. 'They' use the Hegelian Dialectic over, and over again. They cause the problem, the people are herded into demanding the 'solution' that they would never have agreed to, without the fake problem, and then the thing/s that was intended all along, is rolled out. In this instance cranking up civil unrest, until it reaches boiling point (revolution), is what they are after. Then they have the excuse to deploy martial law, along with all the other restrictions and controls they always intended. If more people understood how they are manipulated, by the use of the Hegelian Dialectic, we wouldn't be in this mess. The people are giving the controlling entities more and more control. What you are describing is corruption and materialistic, not capitalism. Anti-competitive practices are anti-capitalism.

I agree capitalism is bs. But after watching a daughter of an incredibly wealthy Chinese businessman burning big amounts of yen for fun to taunt the poor. Nar that ain't working is it. If humans can only think about arguing about two bs systems were doomed.
@tzaph677 сағат бұрын
@@fairhall001maybe so in Capitalism’s ideal state. In practice I see very little competition when it comes to things like fuel, water, rent, internet - things everybody needs. More and more of the world’s wealth is shifting to an ever decreasing pool of super oligarchs. The result is the alliance between fascist Trump types and the super rich fossil fuel company owners, big pharma, technocrats etc. Whether Capitalism has evolved into something else or has the capacity to reinvent itself beyond anything Marx ever imagined is a moot point - the ordinary people are growing poorer and poorer. I’m lucky to live in the UK where we still have some sort of safety net.

@@fairhall001 Nope, that is capitalism in it's purest form. It is not an accident this happens. It is by design as the very nature of capitalism is what enables and fosters this.

The only way to tackle Starmer and his establishment program, is to tackle the ruling class who run him. That means building a class struggle opposistion ...not just protests but class struggle in the unions's . That means taking ON the leadership of the Union movement..and DEPOSING the the piss weak careerists that now run them. I wish it were easier than that but ...its the ONLY way to break the chains of the ruling class. The presenter falls down by not even mentioning this....the Palestine marches were wonderful but those march's mean nothing compared to the organised power of the working class....as a class..black, white, protestant, Muslim, male and female ...workers of the world unite. That is the struggle we must REBUILD.

I think the US probably owns our security services and government and probably have since Thatcher. Pretty much anything of worth has been sold off to them and our ex PM's always seem to do very well out of the US state. Maybe our government is worried the US will destroy us like all of the other little countries that were functioning socialist democracies. I hope Trump keeps destroying them and selling them off to Russian oligarches and his rich backers who will end up fighting each other after they have destroyed us and any other real democracies.
