im transmasc and after my top surgery i was put in the female ward and i can feel the other patients' eyes on me. i understand based on laws i should be placed in that ward but it feels uncomfy af
@MxMorphling Жыл бұрын
Gosh yeah I know how that feels! Not to do with top surgery but other medical issues and same sex only spaces don't really work, especially with gender nonconforming people as doctors and patients may not know where to put us. But on top of that trying to remove diversity teams in hospitals means people are less likely to know how to look after these patients once they arrive... it's like.. so dumb

So years of slow paced collapsed is caused by inclusive hiring and pronouns? The system is that fragile? sounds like it needs to be replaced then

Thanks for the information, I didn't know the UK has come this far! 😟 This is really grim, don't apologise, I would be crying too if this happened in my country (Switzerland 🇨🇭). We do have politicians trying to push such nonsense, but hopefully we have lots of sane people of the medical field who are against it. I hope you all can fight back and regain your country's healthcare! ❤️

It is tragic that in these people's eyes someone's status of being trans somehow takes precedence over someone's status of being a fellow human person... And it's not like people couldn't know better... It's not like this is the first time in history that people zoom in on a specific demographic and try to enforce a lot of strict rules (often with a focus on segregating and othering) to, I guess, feel like they're actually more powerful than they really are, grasping at straws to feel like they are big and in control and are taking charge when the world around them is either going through change or struggling with significant problems (that often have a financial component to it) or both of these things combined... Or how people have the misguided belief that supporting X action (or standing by and letting X action happen) is a "brave" and "heroic" thing to do or stance to take ("I'm saying out loud what everybody is really thinking" & "I'm so brave for speaking up (for bigoted view points)! They can't keep us quiet no more!" type stuff)... As the saying goes: "Every villain is a hero in their own mind!" ... Just... This is not a new behaviour that humans have never exhibited before.... So, if you know history... You SHOULD be able to know better... But apparently it's also part of the cycle that humans just... keep forgetting the lessons that history by all means should have already taught us by now (over and over again!)... It seems to be part of how humans exist... Which is why personally I do not believe that humans are born inherently good OR evil... We are born inherently flawed and inherently contain multitudes... We are born with the ability to make good/kind/pro-social/empowering/uplifting choices and act on such choices ... But we are also born with the ability to do/choose/act on the opposite of that... Not necessarily always intentionally... Or not always with inherently bad/evil intentions (They do say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions...) ... And that's probably where this issue starts... Because if our ability to be terrible/make terrible choices is paired with not centering ourselves in seeing and desiring to protect each other's humanity... That's when it starts to become a problem. Like, my, your and everybody else's humanity/human dignity MUST take PRECEDENCE over our ability to choose and/or act on good or bad instincts (for lack of a better term). This is why in Germany the very FIRST (1st) ARTICLE of our Basic Law states that *"Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority."* ... Which tbf... It's not like Germany is a beacon of acting on this in the best way possible at all times... It's definitely not like we/our government does everything perfectly and that there aren't controversial or downright bad policies... It's not like we have no bigots whatsoever... It's not like we have somehow unlocked a "next level perfect society" or anything like that... I'm not trans myself and I don't know what specifically the state of trans issues in particular is like in Germany at the moment or what the trends are here... I'm guessing it's probably going to be a mixed bag (much like most issues tbh)... But what I am saying is that when this Basic Law was drafted/composed in the wake of WW2 ... The people who came up with making that statement *"Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority."* be the centre/basis of our law and put it at the very front of it... *THEY HAD THE EXACT RIGHT IDEA!!! THEY HAD ALL THE POINTS!!! Or how we might also say today... THEY WERE BASED AF^^* And I think that being conscious of this idea... And being INTENTIONAL with that idea in mind... I think that that would probably pull the rug out from under bigotry such as discussed in this video.

This is such a meaningful and well put comment, thanks so much for taking the time to write it. Indeed, "human dignity shall be inviolable" and I hope to keep fighting for that

I'm getting out of the UK as fast as I can. I don't know where I'm gonna go but all I know is it's not safe for me here anymore. And it's been proven to me over and over again beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm not safe here as a trans person.

Terrified for what this means in terms of obgyn/gyno care. I know it's uncomfortable, as a trans masc myself, but that's shits important, and all this talk of womens spaces... like fuck. Best of luck, trans fam across the pond. Shit is getting so bad. I'm sorry.

@@MxMorphling They just love to infantilize trans men thinking of them as their "misguided/lost lesbian sisters" If they are attracted to men they are really; "confused straight women" so not a threat, disregarding the fact that naturally violent females also exist and harm women as naturally violent males do and can be just as dangerous to non violent females.

I don't mean to make a big deal about this and I know it's not super important but the thing where you said that transfem people are pretending to have periods to cope with dysphoira it kinda feels off. Obv people born without a uterus can not have periods but it's important to note that often in a soical context when people talk about having a period it's not just about the period it's self but like the symptoms around it. So I feel often when trans women talk about "having their period" or what is seen as them doing that is talking about period like symptoms they experince, there are some trans woman who say they have experinced them as well as some intersex people who are biologically female in most ways who have experinced period like symptoms without a uterus. There is no concretece science so I don't know to be sure but I feel like that's maybe what transfem people are talking about when they talk about having a period, I've never heard any trans-fem people they experince like menstrual stuff. The world of like transsexual sex postions is still a rather unexplored field so who knows? Also I feel like if they are wrong then we must be looking at some from of mass-hysteria and that ideas make me uncomfortable.
@MxMorphling Жыл бұрын
Oh I just only spoke based on my experience identifying as a trans man dealing with dysphoria, but I've not heard of period like symptoms as the reason, thanks for bringing this up! Will have to look into that.
