Royal Navy frigate keeps 'close watch' on two Chinese warships travelling through British waters. HMS Richmond kept a close eye on the Chinese naval task group as it passed the UK for the second time in three weeks.

it's not the first time. China did this a few years ago too. There is nothing wrong with freedom of navigation. The US sometimes does it near China, and Russia sometimes does it near Britain.

At one time, the RN was operating up the Yangtze River. Remember the Amethyst? The crew marched through London as if on a victory parade. Those days are long gone. It's good to see the PLAN exercising freedom of navigation across the English Channel.

It's a Chinese ship sailing to St Petersburg. The US sails near to China on occassions too. Don't read too much into it, it's not that deep.

This why the UK needs a bigger Royal Navy to look after British interests aboard and the Merchant fleet. And UK waters. Plus it brings jobs.

UK can't afford. BTW, 40 years ago, China thought the same after watching UK attacked Argentina with it's navy fleet. Today, China has a much bigger navy than ever before! But UK only got big mouths left.😂😂😂

British interests abroad? Those days are long gone. The UK can not afford to maintain a big Navy. It can't even deploy a carrier battle group without help from other NATO navies.
