Wonderful score by James Newton Howard in the tradition of Pat Metheny or Dave Grusin. The music is orchestral; a band (git, b, dr) is also integrated (featuring great musicians like Toots Thielemans, John Robinson, Neil Stubenhaus). I always wanted to play this on piano, so I arranged my favourite 4 tunes as medley for solo piano.
Enjoy!
PS: I really recommend the original soundtrack! The movie is worth a look, too :-)

Uwe has woven these pieces into a dream Tapestry, follow the thread to a place where love is always returned broken hearts are mended, all friends are welcomed no one turned away. Follow the Muse to the next ridge peace is just ahead.

Wow, I like what you did! The music already struck me when I saw the film in the movies. I bought the cd directly after; and the dvd! Great story, but what great music. I started to check out James Newton Howard; wow, what a master! So I was quiet curious when I bumped into this KZbin page. You played his music with love and devotion... Thanks. :)

I don't care what you play, as long as you play it in your so sensitive pianistic style and touch and on the unbelievably beautiful instrument you have there. What you do here is 100% excellent, there is no room for the slightest criticism. Keep it up!

Great stuff, Uwe. I need to listen to the original music. I am a big fan of Toots Thielmans. Toots plays on Pat Metheny's "Always and Forever" for only 30 seconds, but he makes the song soar with his harmonica. Only Trust Your Heart is highly recommended. I digress, but you are catching very atmospheric stuff in your solo piano play, and it's quite phenomenal. Nicely done!

Quel bonheur que d'entendre quelques unes de mes musiques préférées jouées par un aussi beau talent. I envy you! :-) You made me decide to get back to the piano, in hope that my rendition of this music will be the reflexion of what I feel...like you do. Keep going. Life is quite good, simply by listening to you gentle touch on the keys... Bernard de Montréal.

Exquisitely beautiful! Such wonderful piano sound. What do you use to record?
@ukaykeys
@ukaykeys 9 жыл бұрын
veganman22 Thank you! I play a YAMAHA GA1. I prefer a brilliant piano sound and asked the tuner to intonate my piano that way. So a piano sound is not so much a matter of size than a matter of intonation :-) I have searched very long to solve the problem of too much reverb in my records. The solution is to keep the piano lid closed with the mic inside (I use the Applied Microphone Technology M40, which is very good). The rest is traditional sound engineering. The reverb is from Logic 9 „Goldverb“. I also used the Logic Compressor & Exciter.

Caro Uwe, qual o piano que tu estás tocando (marca)? E qual microfone utilizaste para captar o som do piano? Dear Uwe, which the piano that you're playing (brand)? And what microphone you used to capture the sound of the piano?

Hi Luciano, I´m playing a YAMAHA GA1. I prefer a brilliant piano sound and asked the tuner to intonate my piano that way. So a piano sound is not so much a matter of size than a matter of intonation. I have searched very long to solve the problem of too much reverb in my records. The solution is to keep the piano lid closed with the mic inside fixed with tape under the lid (I use the Applied Microphone Technology M40, which is very good). The rest is traditional sound engineering (i should mention that I studied sound engineer before I studied classical piano; my studio equipment is pretty good meanwhile :-). The reverb is from Logic 9 „Goldverb“. I also used the Logic Compressor & Exciter.

Thank you for information. I really liked the sound of your piano, brilliant with weight in the bass. The recording is surprisingly quality. Very pleasant to hear, even more the quality of your arrangements and your execution. You do not compose songs?

Hello Uwe! Do you use two microphones to capture sound in stereo? And what the pre amp dot you use for the microphone? Do you use mixer or an audio interface to send the sound to the computer? The GA1 piano is no longer manufactured. Which model currently correspond?
