Such a pleasure to hear the two of you talk on a subject we all love, and that you're uniquely informed about. Ignore the haters - they don't have enough to do with their time. You guys are the best. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Alex and Barry. Two legends of the Uke scene and both so influential and informative. Just didn't think that you'd get the negativity that you've both encountered. I guess simply I don't read through the comments. I appreciate we all have different tastes and what may rock someone's boat may not rock mine. But they'll entirely entitled to their tastes. If I don't like something shown one week or even many weeks in a row I don't complain about it. I just look forward to the next Uke that rocks my world. And yes I really value Barry's view on those Ukes he reviews. And I'd be lying if I said I haven't been influenced more than one to eventually buy one (who am I kidding, many) of those Ukes. Likewise Alex love your (and the teams) reviews, but I still turn to Barry's view to seek his opinion. Loving my SUS Carabao tenor and indeed the set up on the Vanguard. Keep up the great work

I have followed both you guys for a few years now and generally just enjoy and appreciate your reviews, and learn a bit along the way. Never occurred to me you might have to contend with negative feedback. Bummer, sorry to hear. Anyway, thanks!

Please both of you keep doing what you do. Living in Malta it's a bit of a ukulele desert. I've made some poor choices, I really wish I had, had your advice earlier and it really is encouraging. Its one thing to to look at the greats, but you make it accessible to soooo many people. Keep going 😉

I love both your shows and have to say I have learned so much more about my instrument from both of you. I actually started with Bernadette’s 30 day “ over the rainbow.” Your shows have guided me to the ukulele’s that fit my interests and opened my mind to trying some new things. Thank you both for taking the time to make us ukulele players a little smarter and a little better. It was great hearing your conversation. Thank you both… DOC

I’m a fan of both of you, so it’s a treat to have you together. Enjoyed this a whole bunch! Got to add one thing - the baritone ukulele is what happens when a guitar player gets arthritis in their hands and can’t play steel strings any longer. There are a lot of us out there. We already know the chords. :-)

Interesting insight into Barry Maz's KZbin world Alex. Got to say though, I think the Baritone Ukulele rather than being the poor man's Guitar is the old man's Guitar. I can't comfortably ( and I mean without considerable pain ) play the Guitar but with Fluorocarbon strings the Kala that I bought from you lads at SUS is the most comfortable Uke to play that I have. What I can't see the point of is the Guitalele but each to there own. I know having taken up the Ukulele shortly before the outbreak of Covid I'll never be a very good player but I also know I'll always love the Ukulele. I used to be heavily involved in the miniaturist world for about twenty years and that similarly to the Ukulele sphere was kind of peaks and troughs. Every time you thought, this about played out now, there would be a resurgence often because of some small innovation and off we go again with new faces hitching on to the craze for want of a better word.

Love both of your guys work. I hope you can ignore the negative comments, and I can imagine how that can dwell in the back of your mind though. Anyway, it was a real pleasure to meet you Alex (and Phil) in store earlier this year. And Baz, although I don't always read the in depth reviews, please be assured that your video summaries are always delightfully entertaining and the world would be a poorer place if you jacked it in. Great interview guys, please keep up your online integrity and sharing your time and knowledge of all things uke!

I procured my first ukulele in 2001, a Bruko. What a journey it has been. I've probably had 40 or 50 since then. Glad to be on the planet along with this ukulele "New Wave." (Shout out to Jim Beloff, back then he was the lighter of the fire.) You two guys are among the primo tenders now. Thanks for all you do.

Great talk Alex & Baz. First time I have come across these from Alex, though I am regular viewer of Baz's reviews. Just one comment I bought a baritone, Kala from World of Ukes about 12/15 months ago which I love. It allows me to sound guitarish but I don't have the hands/ fingers to play a "real" one, so I am happy!!😀 Keep up the good work Baz & I am looking forward to next one from Alex.

Looking forward to this. This season of Ukes with Alex you’ve so far managed 3 out of 3 with people who’ve been important to me with Ukuleles. Bernadotte’s videos started me off. Phil is my teacher and I’ve learned an immense amount, including forming tastes on what I want to play. And now Baz from whose site and videos I’ve learned a lot about the instrument beyond simply what’s good and what isn’t.

Really appreciate the conversation between two people that are responsible for greatly reducing my bank account over the last couple of years. Even if I’m unlikely to buy the subject of your videos (e.g. sopranos, etc), I always watch because of the insight you both provide. Would love to see the next Coast ‘Ukulele that SUS stocks make its way to Got A Ukulele!

It's not just sopranos on Got A Ukulele Mike - I counted them up recently - it's pretty evenly split between soprano, concert and tenor. It's baritones that don't get sent to me as often!

Just saying... I read the KT comments you refer too and I think the comments made have been misunderstood. Selling on ebay is what it is the buyer dictates the price, we all know that. I think the point which was been made was to the reference you would be happy to pay double in the original review. I think it had an immediate effect and peoples perception is there worth more and prices went up. At the end of the day the builder gets more for his work which is all good.
