I love watching videos like this - very nostalgic and a refreshing reminder of what this level crossing used to look like, and the layout and set-up I'd often see in pictures of it when I was younger. Interesting just how stark the contrast is with this and the current set-up of equipment. Awesome video - thanks for sharing this from your archives! 👍😁

South East Level Crossings & Trains Chann Thanks mate, hope this was a nice surprise for you 😁 It was very nostalgic for me watching this, and was a great memory I can faintly remember all the way back then. The newer crossing does look very different to what it was

Well, this is a surprise! Nice to see some archive material from Paignton, as well as a bonus image of the Britannia crossing. Those wigwags at Britannia look nearly new in that photo! Great video! 😁👍👍

Thanks Will 😁 I was so relieved to have found these videos as it provides quite a nostalgic video of Paignton before it was all changed. I did notice the wigwags looked quite different at the Britannia crossing 👍

August 2008, I was 8 lol. I wonder what it looks like now, maybe like any other double barriers crossings (LED lights with pedestrian lights and new barriers, maybe new alarms as well). Train-wise, while the 220 XC continues to run there, I wonder if the Pacers are still there as well, if not which class replace them? Great video and archive from these old times when the Covid wasn't even a thing...
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😎 The crossing looks very different now, after everything was upgraded in February 2012. I believe Great Western Railway no longer use the 142 or the 143 pacers. Class 150 and Class 158 trains probably operate down to Paignton instead. However, given the amended timetable due to Covid-19, this may be different.
