It's obvious why they were flying so casually. There's a lot of videos of Ka-52s simply sitting back and engaging entire undefended convoys with Vikhrs. When you're used to Turkey shoots you don't take precautions when there's a credible threat.

Russia has taken land equivilant to Belgium , Netherlands and Switzerland combined , they are hardly loosing. The lose of equipment is of little concern to Russia , they have plenty in reserve. Russia has lost 86 fixed-wing aircraft and 90 helicopters during the last 16 months of combat in Ukraine, but its national air force still poses a major threat, the head of the Royal Air Force said July 13, 2023 .

The loss of skilled personnel is what is will hinder them in this conflict.

@@TacticsWithJoe 100% Yes skilled personnel can become an issue. I would say they are training many new pilots etc and the skill gained in a real war has strengthened Russia overall. The war was a total diplomatic failure on all involved , a total waste of life.

@@Brian-us2xz At the rate the Ukrainians are conducting the offense, they may force the Russians out sometime in 2078. Add that these Regions had referendums to leave Ukraine's sphere of influence all spells that the Russians are not leaving.

Russians getting shot out of the sky??? Two helicopters down...lol. You realize the US lost almost 6000 helicopters in Vietnam? The Ukraine airforce was wiped out and the F16's will be as well. They're the old blocks and there won't be enought to make any difference if they aren't destroyed upon arrival. Keep coping.

The US was in Vietnam for a decade. Had more helicopters than Russia does now. US pilots received more flight time back then than the Russians do now. Vietnam was guerilla style insurgency mostly. The Russians have been in Ukraine for 2 years now and are losing a large number of their fixed wing and rotary -wing aircraft functional. 78% of the fixed wing and 48% of the rotary-wing is all they have left. That's really bad for just two years of a war since they only have a few thousand operational. The Russians are doing much worse than the US did in Vietnam. But hey, keep coping vat|\|1663r. During the Vietnam War, the cost of military equipment was less, and the capabilities of the US military industry were significantly higher than those of the modern United States. The same is true to a greater extent for modern Russia. P.S. I am Russian and I believe in Russia’s strategic victory in the long term, but the price will be high.

At the moment, no one seems to be winning this war. Ukraine's counteroffensives are super slow, russians holding occupied grounds, etc. It's Just people dying without any real major gains for both sides, i mean the urozhaine situation has potentials but we'll see. Shit could lead to a stalemate

The nature of attritional warfare is that Russia does not need to make gains right now, it only needs to keep grinding the AFU down and then it can walk all over them later...
