Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba is on a two-day visit to India. The trip comes after months of strained relations between the two countries over India's refusal to criticise Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Kyiv has made sweeping statements accusing India of buying Russian oil "mixed with Ukrainian blood". New Delhi has defended its position citing long-standing strategic relations with Moscow. India has also called for a diplomatic solution, saying answers cannot be found on the battlefield. Kuleba is meeting Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar on Friday and will hope to secure his support for the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland. Will India agree to attend? So if they choose to tie their supply of precious resources to their neighbors with good behaviour by those neighbors toward them, then that's their sovereign right. Remember, Russians have always lived in Ukraine. Western half of Ukraine belonged to Poland, while eastern half belonged to Russia. Poland and Russia both referred to their respective areas as their "borderlands"(word "Ukraine" means "borderland"). So this new country called "Ukraine" is just an artificial entity that didn't exist prior to WW2.
