There was a poll that asked 1991 Ukrainian presidential election participants in 2023 if they had a time machine who would be their choice in 1991, and smth like 80% sound it would've been the dissident hardliner Chornovil...Chornovil could've had a shot at detaching Ukraine from Russia much more and closer to the West, but we'll never know now. And we know that Yanukovich won in 2010.
