So for those of you commenting regarding “ANTIFA” - BOAK, who are the primary resistance group to Putin’s regime. Their name translated from Russian is “The Combat Organisation of Anarchist Communists”. So they are Leftist extremists. Hence their relation to ANTIFA

To be fair, public transport is an important public good, that should be an integral part of every countries strategic transport plans. It’s just, not really relevant in strategic military planning, so yeah. From ‘6 days to Kiev’ to ‘six months in Bachmut’ and they still haven’t taken it. Embarrassing for the Russians, heartening for Ukraine & it’s allies

small correction: Zelenskiy didn't visit Bakhmut because the russians at the time had fire control over most roads that lead into bahkmut (dude could literally have been blown up by artillery or ATGMs on his way there). He visited Chasiv Yar, directly west of Bahkmut. Still very dangerous because it's in artillery range, but significantly safer.

When F-16 first arrived at Hill AFB, it was one year, with maintainers experienced with similar equipment and Viet Nam experienced pilots, until they reached IOC. It was roughly 4 years until the F-16 units were combat effective. While there are probably many ways to trim this timeline, it is something to consider when projecting the timeline for Ukrane's use case. Having combat effective F-16 squadrons with, link 16, GCI, AWACS, AN/ASQ-213 HARM and support from Rivet Joint or similar platforms is probably a ways off. They should definatly get them , and and anything else they need, just saying ...

After what Russia has done to Ukraine, surrendering or giving up land is not an option. Russian oppression of Ukrainians was literally worse than what nazis did to Poland in ww2. The targeting of the rail lines will hasten the end of the war potentially faster than anything else. Russian rail networks are the backbone of their logistics, without it the supply chains break down. Even as it is, once the supplies are off the rail lines they are difficult to get to the front. The Wagner group may be facing supply shortages or even denial because the rail network is under too much strain with limited access for bridges etc.
@dosa2990
@dosa2990 Жыл бұрын
1) Most of Russian rail lines are in ........ Russia 2 ) Most of the rail lines can be ...... easily repaired and damaged portion of tracks can be simply replaced in rather short period of time
@hammer1349
@hammer1349 Жыл бұрын
@Apoorv true but as we saw in the video, the clip where the entire section of rail including the bridge is just ripped up and off using the crane could likely take a day or two to repair. The same goes for the collapsed rail bridge clip. In the case of the latter, the bent rails need to be cut away, the concrete then needs to be smoothed off and then measurements need to be made so they can make a reinforced concrete block the right size. That has to be poured, dried and delivered to the area. It then has to be installed and then new track has to be laid and connected. With the threat of attack slowing things down the process could potentially last a few days if not a week. There appears to be some damage to the other rail line alongside it as well which needs inspecting and repairing. Up to an entire week of supplies not passing beyond that point could cripple operations further afield dramatically. Depending on where the bridges are, its possible that it could be the only access route into an area. I am not saying for certain that it is the case but it is a possibility. The diversions needed to keep supplies moving could cause other problems as well with congestion, physical wear and tear on the lines etc.

@Apoorv the Russians have been targeting rail lines with inaccurate missiles and dumb bombs for the most part. There is a difference between trying to hit a rail line from a few miles away and tearing it out of the ground with a crane. One is potential, the other is pretty much certain
@nihluxler1890
@nihluxler1890 Жыл бұрын
@@hammer1349 The Russians have months worth of supplies stockpiled in advance along the entire rear of the contact line specifically for that reason. Even if a rail line really was out of commission for a week, supply would still be done by truck (which the Russians have an abundance of) in the meantime. Whatever slowdown you’d get from that would not be worth the missiles it was used to accomplish. By a lot.
