A bunch of stunning helmet cam videos from Ukraine shows Ukrainian forces storm a Russian held village filmed mostly from the helemt cam of a humvee machine gunner.
It was not disclosed were and when exactly this video was recorded so we can only talk about what we see. (UPDATE LOCATION WAS LOCATED: / 1 )
This video is cut together from three different videos from different sources that however seem to show the same event from different perspectives.
The first part is filmed by the gunner of the lead vehicle of a Ukrainian humvee column as it advances to the outskirts of a unamed Russian held village.
The gunner who is clearly a english speaking person lays down a lot of suppression fire on to expected Russian positions to cover the advance.
He also blast several buildings with AT4 launchers in between.
The second part shows the same event but this time from the inside of the humvee.
The last part shows infantry getting in to contact in what looks like the same area.
Now what can we get from this:
1. If this video is recent there is a high possibility this was from a operation in Kharkiv. Kherson could also be possible.
2. The gunner is most likely a American so Ukrainian Foreign Legion fighters participated in the mission.
3. Russian got caugh by suprise and where overwhelmed by the Ukrainian push.

Most mics absolutely cannot handle the peak Db that guns put out. almost every show on YT that handles guns has special mics OR special placement of mics to capture a closer* true nature of the guns sound. Microphones a lot of the time can handle RMS or average high volume but not that nasty high impact peak waveform. That's just one side of how we hear things, the capturing. Digital compression also hinders but more importantly is the through quality from capture to listen. And most of us are listening on shitty phone speakers that wouldn't handle the true nature of a 50 cal either. That being said a proper captured kick drum or something will transfer to a shitty speaker better than the reverse. Sorry for nerding out, cheers :P

The whole ammo mixup in the gun truck is exactly the reason why it's important for foreign legion guys to learn basic essential commands in Ukrainian/Russian beforehand and conduct team drills using those commands. There's a reason why troops in the French Foreign Legion are required to learn phrases in French and why Spanish Foreign Legion troops learn phrases in Spanish. Even if foreign legion soldiers all speak different languages, they need to communicate in a common (host country) language that will also help them communicate with adjacent host country units

@weeardguy
@weeardguy Жыл бұрын
@@JOhnDoe-nl4wj English may be mandatory, but most Ukrainians never or hardly speak it anymore after they got it taught. It was the main reason I had nearly got on a train with family of the Ukrainian friend who invited me to her country after meeting her in my country (The Netherlands), as her sister was a teacher at the local school. As I was far more profound in English, her sister said it was a great opportunity for the kids at school to practice their English. Sadly, tickets for the train were not available anymore, so I couldn't go with them. And the differences are sometimes just plain weird: when I walked into a drugstore to get some plasters, there was a very young woman, somewhere in her twenties behind the counter. But when I gave it my best effort at Ukrainian and eventually resort to English, her eyes grew big and scared. She started to wave to her co-worker, a far older woman, to help her, as she didn't speak English. And yes, the English of her co-worker was basic, but we got there in the end. Same with some of the restaurants: the young staff could hardly speak English, but when I would get to the ticket-window of a museum, were a VERY elderly person would be handing out the tickets, I could get an almost fluent English response. I completely second everyone though that it's best to learn some basic lingo. It will also break the ice with your fellow brothers in arms if you at least try in less stressful situations, that was at least my experience (and especially when you (apparently) get so good at 'good day' in Ukrainian that they start to reply in Ukrainian, you know you are getting somewhere)

@@weeardguy Yep. French is taught in all secondary British schools, but how many Brits know more than a handful of phrases in the language? Most people who do speak another language only learn one additional tongue, and most Ukrainians have chosen Russian for practicality. That will likely switch to English in the coming decades as all remaining cultural and political ties with Russia have now been completely destroyed forever.

I couldn't imagine fighting a war where everyone on your side speaks different languages. I'm certain the people in the truck didn't speak english well if at all. But good on the gunner to react well to the situation and even improvise to the rockets lol. You could hear the rounds hitting the vehicle so this dude was insanely calm given the circumstances. Can't lie i knew that shit was going to not feed with the way he looped the rounds over but i know in that situation he just wanted to get rounds out to make the russians take cover long enough for him to fix it. Slow playback down to x0.25 Upon closer inspection.. it almost looks like that shot passed through the guy on the very right before hitting the launcher on the back of the middle guy. EDIT : upon one last rewatch, I was confused with the patch of smoke just before the tracer and I think the guy might get hit by a first bullet, then the tracer comes in with possibly a third hit. He speaks Ukrainian, and his entire crew also speaks english. The reason that they handed him AT4 instead of .50 is because his crew panicked and thought there was a BTR or some other armoured vehicle that had been expected at that position, but wasn't. Another commentator hypothesised that perhaps the Kharkiv offensive could be one of 2 things (in his opinion): 1 - Spoiler attacks or probes that got more traction than expected, due to excessive pulls from Russia to defend Kherson 2 - Perhaps also an integral part of the main attack, actually related to Kherson. Publicize Kherson attack & make obvious moves for it (bridges bombing, mass troops south). But concurrently in the North, discretly prepare much smaller # of troops (easier to hide from russian intell), but elite/experienced ones. If this is Kharkiv, #2 starts to make sense. Seems these guys are experienced and pretty confident overall.

i imagine this is from the Kharkiv area, simply due to there audibly being far less artillery coming in around the Ukrainians, and a noticable lack of in-depth defensive structures, which would be in line with Kharkiv with much of the artillery and troops there sent to Zaporizhzhia/ Kherson, and so there's not enough to defend or dig well in at their new positions. Also, just the way it was stormed in general, judging by the speed at which they advance towards the village and how they were riding in like that at such a speed right to the settlement. The geography is more inline with Southern Ukraine though. Looks like they were driving through farm fields. Kharkiv area is greener and has more woodland.

At least they had the head space and timing correct, and a beast firing it. That’s the most I’ve ever seen a 50 cal fire 🤣

I remember seeing this video with commentary some where but i can't find it now. I thought it was civ div but i guess not. He saved the first tube for training. It was a communication error mixed with a little panic. The POV was the most experienced one there. Apparently he started to panic too because the vehicle was not suppose to stop moving because that invites return RPG. He thinks he got ammo just in time to stop a russian from firing a rpg at them.

The tactics and training the US military's advisors have provided the Ukranians has successfully and effectively filtered down to the front lines and point man teams, even in Foreign Legion units! *THAT* is seriously impressive to witness firsthand in action like this. Tactics and logistics have utterly failed the kremlin creeps and massively OP boosted the Ukranians. You couldn't roil dice this loaded, it'd be revised/patched out of the RNG as a bug in any game. It's heartening to see the tables turn so unexpectedly in overwhelming favor of the underdog as the former alpha dog flounders and burns. Thank you Ukraine for doing what we in the west always assumed was inevitable but never had malice or excuse enough to start in anger: the defeat and humiliation of tthe former Soviet Union. Swift death to the tyrant and his cabal of willing conspirators. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes. The west is with you until all your land is liberated. Your fight is ours as well.

I am proud to be an American! To see my tax dollers go to this makes my heart fill with pride. With that said, the US has provided so much in terms of supplies, cutting edge weaponry and training. Lets not forget our great allies who have done just as much .. UK, France, Germany and big time Poland. This is a Western team effort! Putin wanted to split us all up ... instead he brought us closer together!

Very true really sad to see far right ppl in US politics complaining abt sending aid to Ukraine to fight our oldest rival and protect a sovereign state. They claim to be patriots but won’t help fight against a tyrant. What happened to the city on the hill 😔

Nice to see that the dude was not raging because of that gun being so crap. I have zero war experience, but that thing looked like it is a hell of an annoying thing to operate even in a civilian context, not to talk about when people shoot at you on a battlefield.

I think (no expert) that the gun was ok, he had a lot of stress because they were taking fire. You can see bullet hits near the vehicle, he shouts that they are taking rounds, and a little later on you can see that at least one window on that side of the vehicle (rear passenger window) took at least one round. So very stressful situation. They didn't have reloads for the .50 ready to go, so he got handed a bit of a belt eventually and just did his best to slap that in as quick as he could and get more suppression out in the threat direction. The belt was all twisted up though so it failed to feed after a while and he had to re-seat it. Dude was doing everything he could though, we all wish we could do that well while having bullets fly all around us and literally hitting the vehicle and shield we are inside of I'm sure, but not many can. Damn brave.
