Most mics absolutely cannot handle the peak Db that guns put out. almost every show on YT that handles guns has special mics OR special placement of mics to capture a closer* true nature of the guns sound. Microphones a lot of the time can handle RMS or average high volume but not that nasty high impact peak waveform. That's just one side of how we hear things, the capturing. Digital compression also hinders but more importantly is the through quality from capture to listen. And most of us are listening on shitty phone speakers that wouldn't handle the true nature of a 50 cal either. That being said a proper captured kick drum or something will transfer to a shitty speaker better than the reverse. Sorry for nerding out, cheers :P

The whole ammo mixup in the gun truck is exactly the reason why it's important for foreign legion guys to learn basic essential commands in Ukrainian/Russian beforehand and conduct team drills using those commands. There's a reason why troops in the French Foreign Legion are required to learn phrases in French and why Spanish Foreign Legion troops learn phrases in Spanish. Even if foreign legion soldiers all speak different languages, they need to communicate in a common (host country) language that will also help them communicate with adjacent host country units

Just learn English
@weeardguy2 жыл бұрын
@@JOhnDoe-nl4wj English may be mandatory, but most Ukrainians never or hardly speak it anymore after they got it taught. It was the main reason I had nearly got on a train with family of the Ukrainian friend who invited me to her country after meeting her in my country (The Netherlands), as her sister was a teacher at the local school. As I was far more profound in English, her sister said it was a great opportunity for the kids at school to practice their English. Sadly, tickets for the train were not available anymore, so I couldn't go with them. And the differences are sometimes just plain weird: when I walked into a drugstore to get some plasters, there was a very young woman, somewhere in her twenties behind the counter. But when I gave it my best effort at Ukrainian and eventually resort to English, her eyes grew big and scared. She started to wave to her co-worker, a far older woman, to help her, as she didn't speak English. And yes, the English of her co-worker was basic, but we got there in the end. Same with some of the restaurants: the young staff could hardly speak English, but when I would get to the ticket-window of a museum, were a VERY elderly person would be handing out the tickets, I could get an almost fluent English response. I completely second everyone though that it's best to learn some basic lingo. It will also break the ice with your fellow brothers in arms if you at least try in less stressful situations, that was at least my experience (and especially when you (apparently) get so good at 'good day' in Ukrainian that they start to reply in Ukrainian, you know you are getting somewhere)
@shaddaboop79982 жыл бұрын
@@weeardguy Yep. French is taught in all secondary British schools, but how many Brits know more than a handful of phrases in the language? Most people who do speak another language only learn one additional tongue, and most Ukrainians have chosen Russian for practicality. That will likely switch to English in the coming decades as all remaining cultural and political ties with Russia have now been completely destroyed forever.

The tactics and training the US military's advisors have provided the Ukranians has successfully and effectively filtered down to the front lines and point man teams, even in Foreign Legion units! *THAT* is seriously impressive to witness firsthand in action like this. Tactics and logistics have utterly failed the kremlin creeps and massively OP boosted the Ukranians. You couldn't roil dice this loaded, it'd be revised/patched out of the RNG as a bug in any game. It's heartening to see the tables turn so unexpectedly in overwhelming favor of the underdog as the former alpha dog flounders and burns. Thank you Ukraine for doing what we in the west always assumed was inevitable but never had malice or excuse enough to start in anger: the defeat and humiliation of tthe former Soviet Union. Swift death to the tyrant and his cabal of willing conspirators. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes. The west is with you until all your land is liberated. Your fight is ours as well.

I just find the timing between the "tracer" and the hit on the launcher a little bit weird but that might just be because of perspective. I guess you are right the round goes through the first guy and then impacts the launcher. EDIT : upon one last rewatch, I was confused with the patch of smoke just before the tracer and I think the guy might get hit by a first bullet, then the tracer comes in with possibly a third hit. Another commentator hypothesised that perhaps the Kharkiv offensive could be one of 2 things (in his opinion): 1 - Spoiler attacks or probes that got more traction than expected, due to excessive pulls from Russia to defend Kherson 2 - Perhaps also an integral part of the main attack, actually related to Kherson. Publicize Kherson attack & make obvious moves for it (bridges bombing, mass troops south). But concurrently in the North, discretly prepare much smaller # of troops (easier to hide from russian intell), but elite/experienced ones. If this is Kharkiv, #2 starts to make sense. Seems these guys are experienced and pretty confident overall.

i imagine this is from the Kharkiv area, simply due to there audibly being far less artillery coming in around the Ukrainians, and a noticable lack of in-depth defensive structures, which would be in line with Kharkiv with much of the artillery and troops there sent to Zaporizhzhia/ Kherson, and so there's not enough to defend or dig well in at their new positions. They're storming a Russian position, of course they're close together, artillery ain't gonna help when the enemy is only a few metres away from you and your guys

@@GUMMRUCHK yeah, which I mean, I can only hope this is also being used as a cover for Nato sof, but there are a lot of volunteers, a lot more than I’d have guessed in modern times. Then again, I can personally say plenty of US vets find the idea of rolling up on a bunch of legit Russian army with a 50 cal and rockets in a humvee racing across the field like it’s a f’ing Halo warthog, to be an actual dream come true.

@@fromthefire4176 The Ukrainian military and their foreign legions are being slaughtered. It is more like a nightmare come true the foreigners probably regret volunteering.
