11:41 in Warsaw pact times, Slovakia (as part of Czechoslovakia) had a huge defense industry for tanks, artillery and ammo. After 1990, most of it was stopped, and the availability of well trained engineers brought Siemens and Volkswagen quickly to Slovakia. But the re-investment in defense started already 10 years ago. Good stuff, we have to make it clear to the communists that we never want to see them again - nowhere.

IMF funding is 99% made of loans. For all countries. If they don't get the money back they cannot finance other countries.

The US must let Ukraine strike any clear military target within russia. There simply isn’t any sensible, rational reason for preventing Ukraine from using the full capabilities of all western supplied weapons unless the US objective is to draw this war out as long as possible, which doesn’t seem likely.

When it comes to the German Marders, there was an anti-aircraft version of that vehicle as well, named 'Roland' - basically the counterpart to the Osa/Strela of the Sowjets. Does anyone know where those Rolands are ? I wonder why they have not been mentioned yet.

Whilst the Austrian reconstruction funds will no doubt be appreciated, it is worth noting that Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest has personally provided US$500M for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

A rookie military question, definitely not a military mind here-Does russia have time to scramble their airframes away from an airbase when they are alerted that an ATACMS attack is imminent? I do suppose it depends on the distance of the base from the launch site. If they are able to scramble a significant amount of airframes, would a “sniper” event, using Patriots, or even say F16’s eliminate the airframes that are scrambling to escape? Again, not a military mind here, just trying to understand the justification of not using ATACMS on russian air bases inside russia. Is it fear of escalation, or is it waiting for the perfect opportunity to inflict the most damage?

I've started thinking about the recent presidential debate differently. Instead of looking at it as who had the best performance, I started thinking about it from a lying point of view. Trump lied 50 times Biden didn't lie at all, although he did get some figures and words wrong. Surely honesty must count for something. Minty

Unfortunately we are living in a post-truth era in many ways. Trump once bragged he could murder someone in public and would not lose followers. Not complimentary to his followers but they don’t get the contempt inherent to the statement.

US voters are thinking about their every day fight to make ends meet ! If they don't see change, expect them to vote with their believes of what could change their situation!
