While familiar with Soviet-era T-72 tanks, Ukrainian forces are keen to take newly acquired Leopard 2 tanks into battle against Russian invaders. Crews are undergoing accelerated training in Poland, mastering the advanced targeting systems, speed, and maneuverability of the German-made Leopards.

Tanks that they'll probably never see. Tank on tank battle is very rare. Those things will likely get blown away by artillery and missiles way before they see any tank. People need to stop taking reality for a video game, where it's tank battles in a vacuum.

Did you know that two Polish agents handed an Enigma machine over to British agents two weeks before the Germans invaded in 1939? The Poles bought the Enigma machine from a corrupt German soldier who needed quick cash. The Enigma machine was rushed off to Bletchely Park so the code breakers could reverse engineer it. @@Mustam2elane There really isn't much to explain. At the Potsdam Conference1945, it was agreed that Stalin would take over reparations for Poland when he plundered his occupation zone in Germany. Small example... All bicycles made in East Germany in 1949 disappeared completely to the USSR. Why do we know this so well? Because trade unionists closely monitored everything that was brought into the USSR. And of course Stalin withheld everything from the Poles. After that, various treaties were concluded that regulated the question of reparations. most recently in the 2+4 treaty that regulated German unity and also the question of reparations and the question of Poland's western border. All of this has been dealt with for a long time. And if the Polish government organizes an election campaign with it, among the rural backwoodsmen who form the power base of the governing party, fine with me. But if this is used to stir up anti-German sentiment within the EU and NATO, then the fun is over...

I work at a print and mail facility. When we get a new machine, the operators that already know all the stations are typically given 1 day to learn the new equipment. I hope these tanks are able to help them push the Russians back to their own country faster.

When the Ukrainian soldiers were trained on the Dutch Howitsers they completed the course earlier than expected. And before they left to go back to the war they changed the aiming software so they could fire more rounds per minute, and they can aim the canon faster. Even faster than the Dutch can do to this day. What I want to say is that they are motivated, technicaly very skilled and they know how to improvise.

Apart from 14 Leopard tanks, Poland send around 300 soviet made tanks (T-72M1, T-72M1R, PT-91), undisclosed number (probably dozens) of soviet artillery pieces (2S1 Gvozdika) and undisclosed number (probably hundreds) of BMP-1's. Apart from that also enormous number of soviet 122 mm, 152 mm artillery ammunition, 122 mm rocket ammunition, 125 mm tank ammunition and 80 mm, 120 mm mortar ammunition. On top of that goes at least of 2 million of Ukrainian refugees (if not more), so no, Germany is not helping more than Poland in both civilian help and military help.

The Leopard A6 are highly effective tanks but Ukraine is going to have to be careful with their new A4s who's armor is vulnerable to modern ATGMs and kinetic penetrators. Hopefully Ukraine will be able to upgrade the armor on the A4s, they seem really skilled with that kind of thing.
