Honestly what impresses me is the overall education and professionalism of the UA people being interviewed. When the media guy asked about looting. The soldier mentioned the locals state it happens, but hasn't seen it personally. I think those kind of responses are huge because they show how grounded the person is. Assuring that they don't just assume and make assumptions but instead state the facts, and how it relates to their prospective.

While this is of great quality, i do think some things get lost in translation due to culture/language differences(and possibly just the fact that they are people in a war currently). To me the "i haven't seen it myself" doesn't ring as "i've heard it but do not want to make assumptions", but rather more like "oh, they probably are". He's swearing in the bit before it and the part about the glove and "are you losing a leg for this" reminds me alot of family members talking about the way politicians fuck everything up(the cadence and tone). These people are very brave and i am happy that videos like this exist, but it is a thing to keep in mind that some things come across different depending on your cultural background and just the way languages are themselves. Full disclaimer: i am but a half croatian who's lived in western europe for most of his life and by no means an expert on ukrainian/slavic culture/language. I probably don't always get the exact nuances either, but i do feel like i catch a random piece of it from time to time.

I'm a former Pennsylvania steel guy. When I look at the thousands of destroyed Russian armor vehicles, in addition to Putin's humiliation on the battlefield, I see dollar signs for the Ukrainians from the tons and tons of scrap steel. The Ukrainian iron and steel industry is concentrated in central (Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol), southern (Zaporizhia) and eastern (Donets Basin, Mariupol) regions of Ukraine. It will be a nice donation from Vlad and his cronies after the Ukrainians kick them to the curb and start rebuilding their infrastructure. I also hope that the confiscated riches from the corrupt, thieving, oligarch's never go back and are used as war reparations to Ukraine for this wretched, evil disaster. Russia is losing and will ultimately lose this war. It's hard to imagine now but I see a stronger Ukraine emerging from the ashes and restoring its position in Europe and the world stage. I am of Ukrainian and Polish ancestry. I know this will come to pass.

As soon as the announcement was made, Putin invaded Georgia and split the country. He then started the planning for taking Ukraine. In 2014, when the colour revolution arrived in Ukraine, Putin got spooked, took Crimea and created a separatist group in Donbas to prevent Ukraine from ever joining NATO. He then prepared further by clearing debt and amassing US$650B in reserves for the sanctions. As soon as the European economy showed signs of recovery from lifting the pandemic lockdown, he gave the order to invade to make the most of a weakened Europe. If NATO didn't announce the acceptance of Ukraine and Georgia in 2008, and if Ukraine accepted the loss of Crimea and Donbass in 2014 and joined NATO immediately, this conflict would have been postponed.

@Unforgettable Fire exactly. They could go home or just refuse to take part of this war but instead they are killing innocent people. And if Russia wins this war they will life there lives like nothing happend and be the heroes in there country.

@Unforgettable Fire true. I live in Germany and from a young age we learn in school we should somehow feel guilty for something of ancestors did but now we Shall feel remorse for people who do these things today? Thats just wasted time

The Russian troops will then go back and report what happened. Every small victory like this adds up to a potential morale problem. That looked like 10 or so RPGs left behind in that APC...BMP-2 I suspect. I don't understand why the Russians didn't toss a couple of grenades in there to deny them to the Ukrainians.

I agree. Your subtlety is lost on some people. The Russians _who don't want to fight_ and perhaps were conned into thinking it was an honourable career - because they do not have a free press and have been indoctrinated. Hard to imagine for those of us who can freely stand in opposition to MPs or leaders we don't like, and need fear no repercussions.

Hard to juxtapose the courageous principles of their leaders and the people in general and remember how CNN kept stating Ukraine was the most corrupt country in Europe. Corrupt leaders don't stand and fight, the pack up duffel bags full of money and flee the country...like Afghanistan did.

The "haven't seen it but I've heard about it" should be the biggest tell here. Between the media telling me what I'm seeing and the phoney old footage constantly being foisted as live battle scenes, I don't know what to believe. Huge false flag here.
