Honestly what impresses me is the overall education and professionalism of the UA people being interviewed. When the media guy asked about looting. The soldier mentioned the locals state it happens, but hasn't seen it personally. I think those kind of responses are huge because they show how grounded the person is. Assuring that they don't just assume and make assumptions but instead state the facts, and how it relates to their prospective.

While this is of great quality, i do think some things get lost in translation due to culture/language differences(and possibly just the fact that they are people in a war currently). To me the "i haven't seen it myself" doesn't ring as "i've heard it but do not want to make assumptions", but rather more like "oh, they probably are". He's swearing in the bit before it and the part about the glove and "are you losing a leg for this" reminds me alot of family members talking about the way politicians fuck everything up(the cadence and tone). These people are very brave and i am happy that videos like this exist, but it is a thing to keep in mind that some things come across different depending on your cultural background and just the way languages are themselves. Full disclaimer: i am but a half croatian who's lived in western europe for most of his life and by no means an expert on ukrainian/slavic culture/language. I probably don't always get the exact nuances either, but i do feel like i catch a random piece of it from time to time.

I'm a former Pennsylvania steel guy. When I look at the thousands of destroyed Russian armor vehicles, in addition to Putin's humiliation on the battlefield, I see dollar signs for the Ukrainians from the tons and tons of scrap steel. The Ukrainian iron and steel industry is concentrated in central (Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol), southern (Zaporizhia) and eastern (Donets Basin, Mariupol) regions of Ukraine. It will be a nice donation from Vlad and his cronies after the Ukrainians kick them to the curb and start rebuilding their infrastructure. I also hope that the confiscated riches from the corrupt, thieving, oligarch's never go back and are used as war reparations to Ukraine for this wretched, evil disaster. Russia is losing and will ultimately lose this war. It's hard to imagine now but I see a stronger Ukraine emerging from the ashes and restoring its position in Europe and the world stage. I am of Ukrainian and Polish ancestry. I know this will come to pass.

I have a hard time thinking this footage is real, that Ukrainian forces really hit this convoy. I am a recently retired Canadian Forces Infantry person, and have been deployed on missions, and have been in real combat zones and involved in fire fights. There are so many things wrong with this footage. This person in the video says this is a recent hit. I can explain why it is not. 1.) If it were recent, 0:49 the engine would not have been removed. 2.) There is way too much rust on these vehicles to be a recent attack, the ground is not wet, there are no mud puddles, 3.) 1:22, this damage was by armor piercing rounds, 4.) rusted and squished casings, 2:56, casings are shiny brass if they are recently fired. Since the casings here are squished, there is no dirt imprint from the casings for being run over, 5.) Instruments stripped from the vehicle, 3:15, before is was set on fire, 6.) cargo was anti-tank mines? 3:23 there would have been a huge explosion crater and that vehicle not be intact, 7.) None of the trees are burned in the surrounding area, but these vehicles were on fire. There are no impact spots from artillery or mortars on the road, and the trees are not damaged, 8.) a recently opened RPG ammo box, 0:38, and new RPG's in the tank, 3:55. In summation, there is no way a battle was fought at this site, and these vehicle have already been stripped before being set on fire, which was not at this location.

He'd know that these types of conflict are hardly ever straightforward, are often very tricky and the aggressors struggle to easily overthrow an opposition that has a valid reason to fight, versus an invading army that doesn't really know just what they're there for. Even his own country's relatively recent struggle to take Afghanistan should have taught him that this was always going to be an expensive and unwise folly. Never mind the West's failures in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

He expected the Ukrainian government to either flee as soon as the invasion started, or been captured/killed by special forces. Thereby massively reducing Ukrainian moral and destroying the chain of command. As both did not happen, what was to be expected to be a quick operation with limited resistance, has turned into the biggest war on European soil since WW2. Putin was misinformed (Ukraine would surrender quickly/the Ukrainian army is incapable/ the Russian army is far superior) and therefor miscalculated .
