Different words for grandson/granddaughter and nephew/niece are the standard in brazilian portuguese, my mother language. My surprise was when learning Italian it was all the same word "nipote" !

I've noticed that you can either say говорити or розмовляити for "to speak" The first sounds like Russian and the second sounds like Polish.

I've been studying Russian pretty intensively lately and so far the biggest issue I have is listening it's a very difficult language to pick out words from for me

"я добре" doesn't make sense in Ukrainian. I wonder what you were trying to say. "У мене все добре" maybe? It makes sense but sounds awkward just on it's own. "я в порядку", "все гаразд", "норм"... also as variants how to answer to answer to "як справи?". Also, you can just say "добре", if someone asking you that.
