Ukrainian soldiers say new weapons aiding fight against Russian forces in Donetsk region

Ukrainian soldiers serving in Donetsk region said on Saturday (April 8) it was becoming easier to fight off Russian attacks after they had received more weapons sent from the west.
Ukraine hopes the arrival of western tanks, armoured vehicles, trucks and munitions will give the country an advantage over the enemy and improving weather conditions will allow their troops to advance.
“We received more weapons. Spring makes me happy. I hope this is the countdown for all of it to end,” said one soldier, Oleksandr, standing in a head-high trench.
Unit commander Oleksii said the enemy were afraid to attack after encountering fierce defending by Ukrainian forces.
“When they start to, they receive a fending off, a very nice one,” he said.
Soldiers said Russian artillery shelling and attacks from the air were becoming less frequent.
“As time passes, there is a gradual ‘calming’ of both artillery and aviation. It shows that the amount of munitions they have gets lower,” said Andrii, a Ukrainian soldier.

They are not defenders, but aggressors. Study history since 2014. They called Ukrainians, their citizens terrorists because they opposed the overthrow of the legitimate president, who opposed the violation of the law of Ukraine. The real defenders of Ukraine were killed, tortured, and some of them formed independent states, which later became part of Russia. Respect for Russia for risking everything to protect Ukrainians in the east of the country. Ukrainians who wanted to live a peaceful life and comply with the law of Ukraine. Mr Putin started the war in 2014 by financing, training, and arming separatists, sending two large groups with the weapons from Russia that simultaneously attacked numerous town halls in the East of Ukraine. The Ukraine people managed to repel most of the attacks, except about 1/3 of Donbas, but the Putin backed separatists continued trying to conquer more Donbas territory. Ukraine military resisted this with some success, and Mr Putin gradually became more disappointed with this approach, so he re-started the war as a full scale, Russian military invasion in 2022 to overthrow the Ukraine government, and erase any idea about a sovereign Ukraine, or Ukraine society. Mr Putin created laws that made it a criminal act to criticize, or condemn his "Special Military Operation", including naming the invasion a "war" became unlawful as well.
