So we projected the trends of the US's invasion of Iraq in 2003 onto Ukraine, which doesn't work. Iraq was flat, open and had a lot of empty desert to maneuver in, and a dictator who was widely despised. Ukraine had none of those.

If you look at drone footage from both Ukraine and Russia the artillery shelling from the Russian side is incredibly inaccurate . Psychologically it’s terrible but when it actually comes down to it in effectiveness you’re lucky if even one percent of the shells come anywhere near the trench systems
