Ukrainians Resist in Face of Russian Forces

As Russian troops close in on Kyiv, Ukrainian forces continue to show resistance.
Fierce fighting broke out in Kyiv as the Russian forces tried to advance to the city centre.
A constant rumble of artillery fire could be heard in the capital as Russian forces attempted to weaken the city's defenses overnight.
One missile hit a block of flats in the city, destroying at least four apartments.
The city government confirmed there was ongoing fighting and urged people to stay home.

The only way they can win is to lay down their arms and sign a declaration to not join nato. Trade alliances are distinctly different to military alliances. Firstly you have to get there (no airline is flying to Ukraine right now because they have no airports that haven't been bombed) & secondly they're asking for people who are fit, able and trained in combat to attend. Not everyone fits that bill. The mind may be willing while the body is... not so much. There's also a language barrier for many of us - Ukrainian is not a particularly widely spoken language. That doesn't mean that we don't wish we could go, though. Watching an innocent country get decimated, while your own POS government do nothing, is absolutely infuriating - especially when we all know that Russia won't stop at Ukraine (they're already threatening Finland & Sweden). There are many of us who feel the same way as the OP.

Air defence rockets cant lower their altitude obviously. Its a known fact to dodge any anti-air defences just go down and rocket just miss you entirely

@@iMost067 going down is a good defense against anti-air missiles because when they calculate your ballistic trajectory, you would be underground by the time of collision, meaning they will just aim at the ground.

@@iMost067 The only thing they basically have are stingers which are shoulder held and fired it is amazing that the Russians haven't taken control of the sky. That said the Russians are going to be attempting to bring their heavy tanks into the city down crowded streets and if there are any javelins left they will eat the tanks for lunch. That said I don't see anyway out for the Ukrainians but I give them credit there is absolutely no quit in them - this reminds me of me fifty years ago.
