5:00 Agree 100%! Fundamentals ultimately govern the sp but TA can help a lot with timing your entry and exit points. I try to keep it simple regarding TA. The biggest moves usually come after news and often that news comes without warning. If the fundamentals are on your side, you need a good reason for not getting into a trade or for exiting a trade. Relying too much on TA often results in missing the biggest moves. Fundamentals first, TA second!

Historical open to open distributions Volatility (stats) analysis, Implied Volatility (stats) analysis and ATR Volatility (Stats) analysis all comes first to check if the asset has opportunity of making money. Then Idea Generation (gate keeping process). Fundamental analysis, then technical analysis, risk management and a good trading psychology. Day Trading only can be done with high Volatility which is a Portfolio Managers worst enemy but a traders best friends. When Volatility is low you want to increase your time horizon 1-3month trade positions and be a Portfolio Manager!

This guy is more knowledgeable of the market than anyone I have ever heard speak on the subject. He said the 100 indicators showed the same as the 20 but the PEOPLE ( market ) said the 100 must be better 🤷♂️

Technical analysis is king. I think most people hate it because they cannot manage their risk properly. Fundemental is like a 1 night stand and Technical is like a long term relationship.

In my humble opinion... Technical analysis is more pragmatic and less interested and affected by market sentiment. And of course fundimentals just feed into technical analysis anyway. They are not really seperate. Technical analysis is just a way of trying to quantify and apply qualititive and statistical analysis to a range of data and variables. Reproducibility is something that for me is at the heart of it. And that's what makes the difference between tea leaves and true technical analysis. RESULTS. For me the quest is to reach a point where the strength of the algorithm can mitigate losses due to different types of market volatility.

If all rech indicators can do the same thing,...backtesting actual trades on thoee indicators should produce roughly the same results. They don't. So yes, a package with 100 indicators will more likely offer a more profitable system than one with twenty. For example, not all moving averages are created equal. Some are clearly superior to others.

I used technical analysis as a measure of risks. It is no good to buy when the RSI is too high. Why not wait for it to come down? When the RSI is very high, why not sell some of the stocks in order to increase the cash holding? If the prices continue to fall below the 10-day, 20-day MV, consider selling some portions of stocks. This is a way of controlling risks. It is not possible to gain big big money with technical analysis alone. Using Warren Buffett's value investment methods, one can make big money.

Look at Costco monthly divergence on RSI right now. It hasn't played out but it will in a few months. Great for confirmation prior to entering a trade after doing your TA. Check ROKU on the daily and weekly and monthly and see price. Elliot wave theory is god mode as well - youtube trade devils

Another misguided soul. You wouldn't go to the grocery store to track the price of an apple every day right? Why would you do that with stocks? You look a the farm and the apple industry to determine which way the price of an apple is going to go. You look at the supply and demand. It's shocking he can spend his entire life in the markets and still have the wrong conclusion.
