You are so good at this Stuart, I was never very keen on jazzy music I think you are changing my mind now. I love your teaching method, I met you in Fort Lauderdale (Penny Lane) a few years ago. The relax after a chord, gives you time to think. Cant wait to play again myself, it maybe some time though. Smashed my left wrist pretty bad, now with plates and screws, right arm broken as well amongst other injuries. Cant even support my ukulele yet but I'm determined to be better than before thanks to your brilliant videos. Keep them coming.

Thanks Glenys! I hope you heal up soon...and I also hope to return to Penny lane someday :)

You can post it to Patreon or my FB ukulele Zen page: facebook.com/ukulelezen/ Remember of course, add any chords you like to the samples I offer...the contrasts between the chords intros video and your own choices can make for a really fascinating sound from you. Play on, Stu

Very good Stu. Beautiful chords. I notice you are playing high up the fretboard, with a strong down strum. Is that amplified? If not, my Kala might need upgrading at some stage.
@UkuleleZen5 жыл бұрын
No amp, just gravity from my fingers onto the strings. Any amp or pickup only makes your acoustic technique louder. Experiment with how much you push and where you touch the strings...and see what happens :)
@kathyplaza98835 жыл бұрын
Those barre chords are tough for me. I was thinking maybe my action setup needs to be lowered. At the nut my strings are up 2 cm. and at the 12th fret they're up at 4 cm, then at the neck/body joint at the 14th fret they're 4.5 cm. So, I'm wondering, is it too high an action for a comfortable barre or is it my technique? Also, is there a brand of string that lends itself to easier barring?
@UkuleleZen5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathy, Usually a lower tension string (ask for one at your music store or online) will make it a little easier to play & barre. That said, repetition with a spacious & relaxed manner will get you there...D7 is a great bar chord to start with....they're tricky I know! :-). Be well, Stu
