You muh favorite Yankee ukulele'r. I really enjoy your positive laid back demeanor and I have had a lifetime of playing different instruments such as piano guitar and drums but I was given a ukelele 6 months ago and i burned through the beginner tutorials and of all the teachers i am looking forward to taking the ukelele further than i have any instrument and i know da chill yankee gonna bees right here with muh. Unfortunately I've had a bad run past few years and am trying to turn it all around and once I have my finances back in the green I will join your patreon. Thank you for everything you have done for me and helping me make the best of the trying times.

@@UkuleleZen appreciate your compliment & reply! Your work has definitely helped my ukulele journey and improved our sound. Btw, if any of your friends collects custom, rare ukes, I have a half Alaskan yellow cedar / western red cedar top Rebel tenor ukulele with LR Baggs 5.0 preamp that needs a good home. Mahalo for the work you do ❤️❤️❤️

Stu...as always an amazing lesson 🎉 I appreciate you so much! I have a ???? question??? ..What are you doing on the fret board to make that cool noise in the 4beats to fill in the red robin song. Is that just your fingernail running down the fret board or what? So fun! Why cant i make that noise? 😂

Hey Stu! Can you help me out with something? If you make a G7 on your uke, then move that chord shape up 1 fret, what is that chord called?
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
That's Ab7. The fretboard is chromatic, so chord forms (ie: shapes/voicings) move up and down just as pitches do. You just have to move the open string with you for your ex -- or avoid strumming the 4th string :)

@@UkuleleZen ok. Well i found a version of More Than Words by Extreme recently and theres a place where they sing "then you wouldnt have to say that you love me, cause id already rea....dy know." Theres a flat 7 right there on the "dy" but that chord chart i found didn't use it. I messed around and found the Ab7 that works there. I juat disnt know what it was called. It was something i did by ear.

@@Zero_Ego wow! What did i stir up? Lol I played flute in band from 6th grade to 12th, and there in lies the extent of my music theory. Ive always been able to sing and harmonize by ear. We had a piano when i was a child but i only learned to plink around on it in the treble cleft due to my flute experience. Because of that, I'm able to pick out songs on my uke that ive only been playing for a year and a half. Thats how i found the Ab7. I just know it sounds good there, and since some chord shapes can move up and down the neck i figured it had a name. I get music enough to figure things out by ear, but the depth of your knowledge is way beyond me. Thank you for commenting
