I’m a complete beginner, but this is by far the best version and instruction for this song. All the other beginner versions don’t sound anything like this song. Would be nice if you could provide a printable version.

Big Iz. Such a beautiful player with a beautiful voice. I only got into him quite recently being in the UK, I'm just sorry I'll never get to see him play.

@@moon_child8179 Because the one who originally sang this tune (to my knowledge), Louis Armstrong, made this recording in the 1950's. It's all in the voice of the singer, and a good singer will impart mood, so that it has the greatest effect on the listener. This is why a single song that was done by various artists, had different levels of success in sales.

Nice play along though a bit hard for me to follow the range of a man's voice - too low and quite high if I raise it to one octave😂 but I really love it and I learned easily how to play it with my ukelele.

When Iz played it, he used a low G string and I believe he plucks that on the first D strum.

@@Ukulaliens The other reason it's difficult, is that the ear hears the notes differently than what is actually played. I proved this once, by trying to play Los Indios Tabajaras' version of "Sentimental Journey"--which they played on two acoustic guitars on my stereo--and I was "accompanying" them on the piano. (Right hand only--I'm not THAT accomplished!) In order for it to "sound right," I had to go up two notes. F instead of E-flat, to be "in tune" with the piano. Then, I moved the piano. On a different note, the old "Craftsman's" cottage homes built in the early 1900's, had a window in the "Drawing Room," (what is now known as the "Front Room," where "no kids are allowed, because they'll break something!") called a "piano window," which was actually "pretty useless," because it didn't let in a lot of light, and it wasn't a window that could be opened. The bottom of the frame, was EXACTLY 54 inches from the floor, which was one inch above the top of the piano, hence the name. The shelf on that window, also held the priceless ornaments, that nobody was allowed to touch! They'd been passed down through the generations, and the girls were told: "Some day, these will be yours." It took ten years before we realized what that meant. I now have the window, the piano, and the ornaments.
