@inf3rnox sure, it would just be a 4th lower so it would sound a little different, but the shapes are the same.
@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS14 жыл бұрын
@itsmimitime This video is a "watch and learn" kind of video. If you're looking "tabs" or any simpler way of learning this song, there are a bunch more videos on youtube with easier explanations geared toward "novice" players. Aloha.

Mahalo for setting out to teach one of Jakes most difficult songs. I see comments below criticizing you however the student should realize that this is not an easy song and you can't spoonfeed every finger string combination or it will take eons to teach this song. Moreover, it is not for beginning level players although they will benefit by trying to figure out finger/string combination on their own. He in fact does sprinkle in what fingers to use here and there. Give Corey credit for taking on this daunting project. As for Corey, mahalo for the tutorial, you go Hawaiian!!!

dude this video was good . you guys are crazy .. at least he tries to show it.. i suggest you look at this video upside down with your ukulele when you play it helps position your hand beside i played all the parts of the song it sounds perfect.. what jake does is mostly improvisation now hes not gonna show all the notes cause its just the basic notes.. so you guys don't know anything he did a great job thanks seriously man it really helped.. and for others well get better and try again.

This is immensely helpful. Thanks very much for taking the time to produce it. I like the fact that you don't force feed us every note, I can understand that some people need this, depending on their level but this is great if you just want a quick guide. Just a little hint: At the end with the hammer on/pull off chord i find it easier if you hold it propperly with all your fingers, not the barre chord he's using in the video. And do the hammer on with pinky. Than you just slide the "g" shaped chord two frets and than another fret. I think it's easier, might help you, i don't know.
@neosyphenx12 жыл бұрын
You should check out their website, they have a great selection and they have guides to help you pick one. You can get a $50 Kohala mass produced uke if you want to just get started. It was my first. I've since bought from Hawaii Music Supply 3 times. But, if you arent sure if you want to commit to it, go to your local music store and grab something under $100, and check out Aaron's guides on their website to get started.

What type of uke is that?
@edvaldez39266 жыл бұрын
for all the expert comments, I myself am a learner and I'm a bit miffed by all the "tune your uke" and "says one thing and does another". This guy Corey is a performer first. He out of the blue was asked by this shop "hey dude, let's do a quick vid for boobtube". I didn't have any trouble picking it up watching it several times, no I don't have the whole song completely down but it is a good "aid" and "reference". I didn't however rely solely on his tut. There are many other tuts you can look up and compare and how about the "original source" by Jake? He did state in the beginning he'll do a simpler version and so he did the best he could to chop up the fanciness and simplify it. If you think it's easy to do as a car drifter professional to "make it look like a beginner is doing it" then you'll find it's really difficult... check out the behind the scenes of "Tokyo Drift" if you don't believe me. One commenter posts that he's not going to baby you through the fingerpicking. Well that's true, if you need to babied through this song then maybe try learning simpler songs before attempting this one. This song is by no means a "beginner song". Try appreciation and maybe post your own "expert" tut before you rip on this guy. This guy shreds, and he took time out of his schedule to do this vid... for free.
