Ulf Söderberg is the creative talent behind Sephiroth.
He relates stories about the inexorable and destructive power of time, mankinds futile attempts of resistance, and the sunken cities, fallen towers, and overgrown ruins that this has resulted in. Dark eerie soundscapes and ritualistic drums are combined with his own field recordings from places like Cairo, Iceland, and gloomy Nordic forests.
Ulfs music whispers about the Gods we are desperately trying to appease, only to find ourselves dying before the monuments we spent our lives building. Ulf bids you welcome into the ruins and down to the deep forgotten catacombs.

Perhaps one of the best kept secrets in the etno-ambient world. With "Tidvatten" Ulf Söderberg takes you on a hypnotic and highly spiritual journey to the deep forests of northern Sweden. The music is not very abstract and captures the listener from start to finish. The melodies are always well thought out, and always extremely beautiful in an mystic and ethereal way. If someone who haven't heard quality ambient before wants to hear some quality ambient, the I would probably let him/her listen to "Tidvatten", thanks to its direct, melodic style and the thanks to the length of the tracks and the album. "Tidvatten" is the perfect soundtrack for a night out in the nature.

Never heard such a soothing song. Soothing for my soul itself. It puts me in some sort of trance. It connects me with the All. My forever favourite song. Wish I had the option to buy Ulf Söderbergs discography.

I like the shamantic tones. It feels like a montage of viking warriors walking through Scandinavia, witnessing the great northern lights as they climb mountains and trek through the cold nights, spurred on by the spirits of their ancestors.
