Gosa garatal gashigshig, Eric. FROM ERIC METZGAR: Fr. Nick was special - a good friend and visionary. We first met in 1977 when I filmed his ordination on Falalop, Ulithi. For those who want to remember him the completed film includes not only his ordination but also his commentary "The Culture is Not Up Against the Church" which was filmed in 1990. I last saw Padre Nick in 2019 and I will always remember the great "talk story" we had when we met at the Catholic Mission in Yap because we hadn't seen each other in a long time. Not knowing then that the Covid pandemic was about to hit, I asked him if I could come visit him the next year in Ulithi. He told me, “Come anytime, you’re always welcome.” He was that kinda guy and I shall sorely miss his spiritual guidance and big heart.
