I’ve been dealing with ulnar nerve issues for a few months now and did do a bunch of nerve glide exercises. The pain was always at the elbow but has stopped completely more than a month ago. Just five days ago, I started having a throbbing pain on the palm side at the base of the pinky finger and it hurts as if I had hit my thumb with a hammer. Sometimes the pain keeps pulsating even when I go to bed and am not moving. Really debilitating and maddening! I was sleeping with a brace to prevent bending the arm. I stopped using it. I haven’t injured myself, this pain is related to the ulnar nerve; the pain just happens to be at a different location now. Any feedback is welcome, thank you.

My problem is when I’m weightlifting or playing basketball, the spot on the inside of my left elbow like pulls? Or something, if I fully extend knuckles up and push my thumb towards my body I can feel it like move and pop. Idk it’s so weird and kinda affects the mobility of my left arm which is tough for an athlete

Hey, hope your well. Whenever I lift weights on a pushing motion. Ie: push-up, bench press, over head press. At times I get a very uncomfortable and often painful snapping sensation on the ulnar nerve in the elbow. I’ve stretched, given it time to heal. There have been incidents where the pain and tenderness lasted over a month. I can resume weight lifting normally, until again that pop or snap when lifting under load. I’m thinking this is perhaps due to tight pectoral/bicep or forearms. It’s been an issue for over a year, very inconvenient and annoying. Would love your opinion, thanks !

After a spontaneous blood vessel rupture in my left bicep area as I flexed my arm the pain become more severe each time and within 20 minutes I could not bend my arm. In the meantime my pinky finger became numb. I went to the hospital admitted overnight - my whole hand went numb but then my thumb, index, and middle finger regained feeling by the next morning. my outside ring finger and Pinky up to the wrist are totally numb and have been for about eight weeks. I'm really fearful the treatment I'm getting is superficial and may cause long-term damage if not addressed. I've been told him to wait for 6 months to see if the nerve regrow or rehabilitates. But I've also been told that the nerve may rehabilitate but my muscle may die in my fingers because they will have atrophied over this time. are there any specific protocols or treatment that I should be seeking ou? Or specialist that I should see. I've seen a vascular surgeon who says there's nothing he can do that it's not a vascular issue. I've seen a orthopedic specialist who had me come back in a month and then did a EMR nerve test that was done by a different fellow the test showed I had 15% nerve living 85% dead or died. The specialist then said I should wait wait 6 months to see if the nerve would regrow. I've seen my primary doctor. I've had cat scan and MRI. Other than that I have not seen a nerve specialist or any other specialist and I'm afraid that if I don't I'm going to regret not taking some action between now and just waiting for 6 months. Any ideas? Much appreciated Jakerobinsonrvp at gmail dot con

This video just popped up on my feed, i have been having tingling beyond the elbow, right arm (dominant) for a while now, as someone else mentioned, it seems that Drs here in my area (IN Georgia) they do not do this type of stuff, I have been to a ortho (i was having lower neck and upper back pain at the time) now onto yet another issue, this... ive been to PT , they dont have anything like this either, it seems like someone mentioned, they just want to inject or surgery, and i would not do that.some exercies are difficult if i have to use my left hand and do it myself, i have some gliding exercises they did give me, what helps the most, i have no idea.

Hello @vickiemay5523, Thank you for watching! I'm glad the video found its way to you. I understand how frustrating it can be when local healthcare options don't seem to offer the solutions you're looking for. It's important to find a practitioner who takes a holistic approach to your condition, especially with the kind of symptoms you're experiencing. If you haven't already, I recommend discussing your situation further with a healthcare provider who specializes in manual therapy or neuromuscular rehabilitation. Sometimes, a fresh perspective can make a big difference. In the meantime, continuing with the exercises that are manageable for you is a good step. If you're interested in learning more about various musculoskeletal conditions and treatments, we also offer a wide range of articles that might be helpful. You can check out our PDF index here: bit.ly/3voAw7N. Thank you for your support, and I hope you find the relief you're looking for. Dr. Brian Abelson, DC

Hello Sir , I was wondering if doing this would help with a wrist injury in my left hand right where the ulner nerve is located? I seems like half a year ago I was shooting a sling shot, teaching my kids how to properly handle one, well the next day I woke up and has been hurting ever since and never resolved. I went to a urgent care and got a xray of it, so I know the shock didn't break it, I wear a brace on and off, but it's just never healed. I was wondering if a Chiropractor doctor could do some adjustments to my wrist over a course of time or even once that may fix the problem. Thanks in advance for any helpful tips, take care sir.

Hello @timothygarrity5181, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. While I'm unable to offer personalized medical advice without a physical examination, your situation does raise important points about nerve health and recovery. Peripheral nerves have a capacity for regeneration, even after considerable time has elapsed. However, the extent and likelihood of recovery can vary significantly based on numerous factors, including the type of injury, the duration of compression, and overall health. For general educational material, I have written an informative blog post about Ulnar nerve compression which you may find helpful. It's part of a comprehensive library of musculoskeletal (MSK) topics available on our website. You can access all of our articles through a categorized PDF index, designed to help you quickly find information relevant to specific body regions. Here is a direct link to our index for easy reference: PDF Index bit.ly/3voAw7N Given the chronic nature and progression of your symptoms, a reassessment by a medical professional is warranted. They can provide an updated perspective and explore potential treatment options. It's crucial to address nerve-related issues promptly to optimize the potential for recovery. Wishing you the best in health and healing.

From my searching online, it appears that most doctors/professionals are more geared toward surgery than less invasive measures. Should I be asking up from about non-surgical methods to release ulnar nerve entrapment. I am dealing with the sensations in the pinky and ring finger, have lost some motor control in the pinky, and have some weakness in my thumb and other fingers. Can the ulnar nerve be entrapped in the shoulder, or brachial plexus? My daughter’s pinky is numb and she can’t lift her arm due to severely tight muscles around her shoulder.
@kinetichealthonline
@kinetichealthonline 21 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching and for your question. I want to clarify that I cannot provide specific advice or comments on individual cases without a thorough physical examination and complete history. However, to address your general question, the ulnar nerve originates from the brachial plexus, which is a network of nerves formed by the lower four cervical nerves (C5-C8) and the first thoracic nerve (T1). The ulnar nerve travels down the arm and can be entrapped at various points along its path, including in the shoulder or within the brachial plexus, which might contribute to the symptoms your daughter is experiencing, such as numbness in the pinky and difficulty lifting her arm. This can sometimes be due to tight muscles or other anatomical factors in the shoulder region. For an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, I recommend consulting with a healthcare professional who can perform a detailed assessment. Wishing you and your daughter all the best, Dr. Brian Abelson D

@kinetichealthonline 6 ай бұрын
Hello @Sparrow350, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I'm sorry to hear about your fall and the pain you're experiencing. While x-rays can be useful for ruling out fractures, they may not detect soft tissue injuries, which can also cause significant pain and limited mobility. Given the worsening symptoms and the severe pain you've described, it would be prudent to follow up with a healthcare provider as soon as possible. They may recommend further imaging, such as an MRI, or refer you to a specialist. In the meantime, try to limit movement that triggers pain and consider applying ice to reduce inflammation. Please seek medical attention promptly, especially since the pain is intense and affecting your arm's function.

Not one of them has given me any exercises. This is very helpful. Is there any correlation between the muscles in my mid back that also relate to thus nerve?
@kinetichealthonline
@kinetichealthonline 2 жыл бұрын
Hi: I can't make comments on specific cases without examining the patient. "The ulnar nerve arises from the brachial plexus within the axilla region. It is a continuation of the medial cord and contains fibres from spinal roots C8 and T1.After arising from the brachial plexus, the ulnar nerve descends in a plane between the axillary artery (lateral) and the axillary vein (medial). It proceeds down the medial aspect of the arm with the brachial artery located lateral." What this information is telling you is that the problem in mid-back could be a separate issue. But again having not examined you, I can't make comments on your specific case. Cheers

It's encouraging to hear that you are not experiencing pain at this moment, but the symptoms you describe in your left posterior shoulder and the snapping sensation around the epicondyle certainly catch my attention. While I appreciate your detailed description, it's critical to acknowledge that providing specific medical advice through this platform would be inappropriate without an in-person evaluation. The sensations you describe might be associated with a range of underlying conditions or biomechanical imbalances. I encourage you to consult with a healthcare professional, such as a chiropractor, physiotherapist, or physician, who can perform a physical examination and assess your situation closely. Woke up this morning with just a dull ache where I hit the nerve and very minimal discomfort sensations in hand. No pain, tingling, or numbness though. The area I hit is just tender. My question Is, is it possible I just bruised the nerve/area and need to give it some time to heal? I perform a lot of Bodyweight work (push ups, pull ups, etc.) there’s no pain when I do them, but I don’t want to make an issue worse Any response is appreciated thanks!

Hello sir, I think I have cubital tunnel syndrome as I can feel my ulnar nerve hopping between my elbow when I workout. It doesn't make a snapping sound or cause any pain as of yet but I think I should still be careful with it but even a slight bend in my elbow causes it to hop between the joint so I don't know what to do. Although i do nerve flossing regularly, I'm afraid it will get worse if i keep working out (especially in chest and triceps training)... What should I do?

I've had pain in the ulnar nerve right in between the bony knobs in my elbow for over 6 months. It hurts whenever I use it in certain ways and I suffer from muscle aching around the elbow if I strain my hand much. I took steroids 'cause my doctor recommended them but it has not helped me much. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

See if your doctor would recommend manual therapy for nerve entrapment plus nerve flossing exercises. These are the ulnar nerve flossing exercises that we often prescribe to our patients. Ask if they are appropriate for your particular case. Cheers kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmmYgn6vjNulmKutoutu.be/d85QKyWvrbI

I'm pretty sure I have a pinched nerve in my elbow. I can feel it in my elbow sort of like that feeling when you hit your funny bone. It's just a tingly sensation. I still have fill grip and I am excerising at full strength. Should I stop excerising? Idk what to do. I've worked hard for the gains I got but I also want this to go away. Am I able / should I still train if it doesn't hurt? Just causes super tingly sensation. And what's crazy is it completely goes away as I'm training. It comes and goes thru the day after that

I have cubital tunnel syndrome and bursitis in my shoulders. I can get muscle relaxers and steroids all day long and even injections in my joints for pain and stiffness. NOT 1 SINGLE DOCTOR ever tried this. I had to stop going to the docs in my town because they simply won't do anything strenuous or that requires actual brain cells and contemplation. They wanted to stuff me like a Thanksgiving turkey with muscle relaxers and steroids and cortisone injections. I don't want drugs for pain I want to work it out and stretch it out and whatever else is required. I have been working in the fascia in my back trying to loosen it up because I had adhesions kind of really bad and was told even two of my ribs were stuck together because of the adhesions. I'm almost 100% free again except my elbows hurt like somebody put a nail in them. I'm tired of hurting and I'm tired of my arms being weak because they hurt so bad I'm tired of doctors who won't exercise their brain or read a book or update their knowledge database with the latest medical science. I don't even think the doctors in this town have heard the news about the fascia and its role in holding together oxygenating the musculoskeletal system. I don't think they know the fascia can be the center of the reason you hurt so much and how releasing it can stop much of the body's pain, tightness, numbness, bad circulation ,etc. I'm getting really tired of not having a doctor on my side. I would like to have somebody who has had the education and training in sports medicine or even physical rehabilitation. But I have nobody to help me figure out how to keep living while I hurt so much.
