Excellent demonstration and video I'm unsure if I am experiencing radial nerve or another nerve? I have cervical spondylosis in my C5 and C6 and have been experiencing horrible referred radiculopathy pain down my right side into my bicep, forearm, wrist and thumb has been numb for 5 weeks. Physio, Chiro and Osteopath provided minimal relief. Had a epidural steroid injection 5 days ago and still not relieved of much pain

WOW! This is EXACTLY the info I was looking for. My son, seemingly out of nowhere, lost the ability to lift his thumb. Is Waretnburgs point the same nerve that controls thumb extension? He has no pain, just can't lift it.

I've been doing some pull-ups and push-ups lately, and I'm a heavy guy, about 105kg. That put a lot of strain on my joins, no doubt, and I did start to feel some tenderness especially my right elbow, but nothing I couldn't tolerate. I started going easy on my exercises non the less. However, I had to move some stuff around the house and I made some pushing movement with my right arm, then heard and felt some sort of ripping sound. It's hard to locate where exactly - forearm/bicep area, kind of general elbow area. I felt tremendous pain, and was unable to rotate my forearm back and forth. That hurt a lot. Extending and contracting my arm wasn't really an issue. I felt a little better over a few days time, and I can now rotate my forearm both directions, but at the end points I start feeling a lot of pain. There is definitely no way I can exercise, even have trouble doing some every day stuff. There was never any swelling, nothing is broken (I suppose). Is it possible to estimate what could be going on there just based on my description?

It looks like I have radial tunnel syndrome. Could you please tell me how likely I have to undergo surgery? Can I cure it from resting and doing some radial nerve exercises alone? It is kinda strange that my symptoms worsen after waking up, but become much better after rigorous workout like pull up. However after the rigorous workout day it becomes worse again.

Interesting. I started having "funny bone" sensations when straightening my right elbow anywhere within ~45° of straight out. I can straighten my arm out with no pain/issues if I do so in a vertical position. But what you describe at ~3:40 is exactly what I am experiencing. No known/specific trauma to my shoulder or elbow.....just started getting the sharp nerve pain just back from my wrist, and can feel sensations (not painful) along the tricep area. No "wrist drop", and I can still move my wrist/fingers- albeit some angles/positions cause pain just behind the wrist. (Having had a partially herniated disc in my neck led to nerve pain down my left arm...so I knew when I felt it in my right arm, I knew such was more then a muscle or tendon.) Can any particular range of motion/repetitive movement cause such issue(s)? Can compression just back from the wrist (as in a tight fitting watch or tight elastic sleeve cuffs) irritate the nerve in that area?

Hi M Fohawk: Every case involving of nerve entrapment is different. Compression at any point along the nerve can cause similar symptoms at multiple points. This is what make dealing with nerve entrapment a complex issue. It is also why we often recommend nerve flossing exercises to our patients, so they can release multiple locations at once. Thanks for this video. Question, I have had a weakness in my chest, triceps, and shoulders on my left side due to a previously trapped radial nerve. I have seen massive improvements in the last year, but still don't have the full strength on my left side. Just an example: with a single arm cable tricep pushdown, my right side is 5 reps stronger than my left. At the start of the year, it was 10. What would you recommend to speed up the recovery?

Hello doc , as u told me to consult a dr ,i did and he said my radial nerve is irritated during surgery and told me to have patience while my nerve recovers and also gave me some meds , but i want ur opinion now as i have loss of sensation on the back of my hand between thumb and index finger its not complete loss i feel cold and warm as usual but not able to feel touch properly i feel taps but not rubbing and also some shocks and tingling is present there mostly at night, what should I do? ,,,,I shall be very thankful to you if u can provide me with any suggestions

Hi Jatin: Your Dr, is right you will have to give it time to recover. It sometimes takes several months to restore sensation (this is common). Don't be discouraged just give it time. Years ago I ruptured a disc in my back, I had full function but it took close to a year to get my full sensation back. Cheers

Good video sir I had a bike accident and after a week i can't do supination and pronation it hurts alot Also when i try to do this technique you are applying to this lady my hand hurt so much I can't do it. Is it sign of radial nerve damage? Can u give me some tips please ty.

Hello Starkam: This is demonstration video you cannot do these procedures on yourself. You need to see a local practitioner, and see what is appropriate in your case. How do I find a practicitioner near me that does what you do? I believe I have radial tunnel syndrome and golfers elbow both. PT is giving relief but very very slow and minimal

I've been having brachioradialis pain when I bend my right arm and tense. I'm wondering if there is a way to determine if it is radial nerve or muscular strain? The strange thing is it varies day to day depending on my posture so that makes me question whether it's muscular as my shoulders are quite unstable and dysfunctional at the moment.

Hey dr i had humerus surgery 2 days ago but my hand was perfectly working fine but after surgery its not i feel currents and numbness near my thumb , is it cuz of anesthesia they gave me or its something else, ur help would really be appreciated, ty!!

Hi Jatin: I cannot comment on specific cases without doing an examining. That being said, numbness near the thumb could be median nerve not just radial. Can this cause shoulder pain? Infraspinatus and teres minor more specifically. No one has been able to help me yet.

The suprascapular nerve innervates the infraspinatus muscle. The axillary nerve innervates the teres minor. You may want to try some nerve flossing exercises for these two nerves. Hi !. Ive been dealing with arm pain in both arms and been getting treatment for pronator teres syndrome. Anyway im over yr and still no end on sight. In fact i now have tennis elbow pain. Could u suggest someone inToronto ontario for these kindas of treatment??
