That emergency stow option looks like it’s the real deal did you try that when yours broke down ? Seems like a life saving option

Yeah the emergency stow on this one is far better than the old model. But the problem is with this thing weighing in at 100 pounds it’s pretty hard to lift for me. I’m sure younger guys wouldn’t have as much difficulty.

Funny... i experienced exactly what u described with the mental thing. I got rid of my Ulterra without ever having a deploy issue but it had other issues, getting out of position or some other errors that i was able to wiggle and restart and fix a few time. But i was fishing in the winter in lake michigan and very early realized how easy it would be to get stranded there and that started messing with me while i was fishing Lake Michigan in December. I was thinking, what if it gets some water and it freezes... since it was 33-36 F when i fished there.. It was messing with my head all day while i was fishing. I always had one at the back of my mind that i might have an issue when im goin home, and was always leaving early. Thats the only reason i replaced mine with manual deploy, just so i can fish in the winter without worrying..

Glad to hear the replacement motor is working out so far. Hope it continues to perform for you. It still blows my mind that we have the technology to keep a boat still in moving water without using an anchor.

I have a Terrova, it has worked flawlessly. I have been looking at the Ultera and very seriously been considering to purchase it. I, too, am getting older, and I understand what you're saying saying. But like you, it would be in my head. When is it going to happen. I don't need that. Thanks again for sharing. Hope that motor gives you years of flawless service.
