Looks great. I built the first twin-turbo GTR and my car was delivered as a rolling chassis with suspension and all the aluminum panels in place. It still took me a full year, 10 hours/day, 7 days a work to complete. Admittedly, a lot of this had to do with a dry-sump twin turbo, building headers, intercoolers, etc., and dyno testing and later track test and tune which had never been done before. The car was wicked fast, 1450bhp at the rear wheels, low 8-second 163mph 1/4 mile times on Pirelli street tires and a top speed of 252mph which we ran in the Silver State Classic. Just remember you don't have any flight controls... the car was slightly faster than my airplane.

I helped build the ultima Canam about 15 years ago which was a great experience. Your build is on another level. Not sure that your braking will be much easier, but you will adapt to the extra pressure required. A vacuum brake servo is an option but I would avoid it if you can. Look forward to updates.

Yeah I have a brake servo in the box and planned on doing it 100%, but now I may drive the car first, then decide if I want to fit it.

Man, another cool kid with an RS build, I gotta hurry up! Can't wait to watch your build progress and see how you customize it. The headers with 1 7/8" primaries are from AutoBionics and their full exhaust is a really nice bit of kit. Depending on your power goals, the primaries might be on the small side, but let me be the first to tell you it absolutely won't matter. I've seen your engine build, you already have too much power ;). Ceramic coating or header shield is a must to keep clamshell temps down, and you'll find that heat management is the real game. I did a decent job my first go around but I've learned a lot and I'll be making updates during the rebuild.

Do some research on the ceramic coating heat reduction. The ceramic apparently doesn't do a great job. The wrap seems to be much better at controlling the heat. Although with the engine behind you and all the vents you could probably save your money as it will blow all the heat out the rear of the car. Those headers look like the ones the F-1 header makers build in Inconel, but l assume they are stainless. They are a work of art, l would leave them as they are, they look fabulous. If you coat them you coverup that beautiful tig welding. Anyway enjoy your beautiful car and be safe.

I live in Sarasota Fl. and I saw a Ultima GTR several years ago parked at a local breakfast place near my neighborhood. Not knowing what it was I got a bunch of pictures (over 40 from every conceivable angle) and looked it up finding out it was the fastest car around Top Gears track (the real Top Gear) and I was blown away. I saw him buzzing down the main street a week later and followed him, listening to that monster engine and exhaust as far as I could before legally becoming a stalker. Ah that thing looks SIIICK! I aint much of an orange guy but the orange suits that REALLY well. How much are these actually? And are they shipped to canada? Im canadian and sure i dont have my license yet but im getting my beginners license in 3 years and i wanna learn how to race when i get my license. Im just curious because ive always wanted to race and the closest ive had is sim racing on pc with a wheel and pedals or go karting in niagara falls. Its been my dream for ever since i was 3 to actually get behind the wheel and race. And from since i was 3 all the way to now which im 13 ive been searching up details on cars and videos explaining how they work. Ive also wanted to work on a car and i know that a lot of new cars are full of electronics and you pretty much need to take the whole front of a new car off in order to change the oil so i have wanted something like this or something classic like a 70 challenger or charger. Anyways ive gone on rambling enough. Good luck with your car!

Thanks Aaron! Yeah I wasn't a fan of orange either until I saw how well it suits this car. If you check out my latest video, I go through all the costs associated with building it. Hey man, put Bosche Platinum/Iridium, 4 point spark plugs, in your Ultima. Then connect them with "live wires" active spark plug cables, to the distributor on your LS. No one ever thinks of it, but having a low resistance ignition system, gives your cylinders a faster firing time, resulting in higher revs. So, its only a 5 to 10 hp added to your engine, but it's 5 to 10 hp that no one ever really thinks about, especially when building a kit car. So remember; Bosche Platinum/Iridium, 4 point spark plugs, and "live wires" active spark plug cables. They're always an inexpensive boost to any kit car!!!

I love the engineering in the engine, but I hate to say this - you have a great opportunity to make this an electric car. Man you could get so much more power out of an electric motor, also by placing the batteries through out the car you can perfectly balance the weight.
@UltimateUltimaRS4 жыл бұрын
You can't deny the performance of the EVs these days, but they don't have the soul of an ICE car in my opinion. With an engine you have the sound, smell, and just sort of a violence that goes along with it. EVs don't overload the senses.
