Great reaction. When BABYMETAL played Sonisphere in the UK in 2014 the organiser for Download was asked about booking them to play there as well - he famously said something like "There is a time and a place for bands like BABYMETAL, but Download was not one of them, they would never be invited to play Download and he would ban them ever appearing." In 2015 that same Download organiser was posting Tweets saying he had seen BABYMETAL wandering around in costume back stage and asking what was going on. What had happened was BABYMETAL and DragonForce were due to play together a few days later at an awards show in London. DragonForce were playing at Download first and had smuggled BABYMETAL in with them. and when they played their own set later in the day they invited BABYMETAL on stage with them and gave up some of their own time to play 'Gimme Chocolate' with them. Word had got out and the crowd that had gathered to see this happen far exceeded the limits for the stage they were playing on - and that crowd went wild to see the two bands together. So here they were, just a year later and the organiser has done a complete about-face ... BABYMETAL are playing at Download and not only playing, they have their own set on the main stage. It was raining so hard that weekend that their set was delayed for 40 minutes while the equipment was covered and water was swept off stage (there is even a photo of their producer out there with a broom) so they could perform. The stage was still wet and slippery - that didn't stop them do the full choreo or throwing themselves on the floor - and the crowd stayed on to see them too. On the choreo and the contradictions ... I completely agree, I never knew metal could be improved by adding choreographed dancing, but if it was just dancing as we see it done with pop acts it would not work. BABYMETAL's choreo is bespoke for each song, it relates to or interprets the meaning of the song or a lyric, but it is also designed to lead the crowd, to get everybody involved, showing them when to jump, pump their fists, even when to start the wall of death.

_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋 Gj finding this clip with the little short interview intro as well looking for more info about them. Karate means "kara" = empty, "te" = hand. It's also known as Karate Do, "do" (it pronounces with the vowel as an "oh") means way, route, road, it comes from the Buddhism terminology and it shows that Karate isn't only a fighting system but it also contain spiritual elements, so the meaning could be "The Way Of Empty Hand", a philosophy to purge oneself of selfish and evil thoughts in order to receive this new path and way of living a life. One of the many teaching is Karate starts with a vow and end with a vow, which shows absolute respect when you fight against your opponent, in a way it portraits BabyMetal owns determination to keep fighting without being disrespectful toward the critics as well how one can be or the state of mind when listening BM songs, you gotta empty yourself from selfishness to receive the message from the Fox God -NotACult- 👀🦊🤘🔥 Love this epic performance at Download Festival with the heavy rain, this year they weren't there but BMTH performed Kingslayer, so in a sense BM was there in spirit. Ossu! Next suggestion to meet one of the outstanding SuMetal's solo as well showing the power of the Kami Band: - Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, "Kawaii Metal" got this clip safe to react. But whatever you go next as long it isn't a live compilation nor Glastonbury performance it's fine. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Good old Drownload 2016. This performance is kind of famous/infamous due to the heavy rain that poured for the whole festival. It was so wet that Koba was concerned that it would not safe for the girls to perform, and he wouldn't allow the performance to go ahead until he was satisfied that it was dry enough; he was even seen mopping the stage personally! In interviews, the girls mentioned that they worked with their choreographer, Mikikometal, to design the choreo and they watched martial arts movies for things to incorporate into the routine.

Nice one, thanks! The festival had to be renamed to Drownload 2016 for obvious reasons... 🤣 Su-metal totally killed it and people were there under the heavy rain because they knew what they had to do. 🌧😊 🤘🦊

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。It was raining very hard. Equipment on the stage were covered and floor was all over wet. Three girls could have aborted the performance and gone back to a comfortable hotel rooms but they didn't because the huge crowd was waiting and no one left the venue. The girls never modified their choreo even on the slippery stage (You can actually see Su-Metal slipping lightly at 03:57 in your video. ). On the contrary, Yui and Moa threw themselves onto the wet floor and Kamis moved their bodies hard (BOH, bassist, jumped) with the girls to cheer up everyone there. Those scenes moves me to tears, like you experienced. In an interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the bad weather. She felt very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. [source: magazine "Headbang" vol.28 page 16] I love such a positive mindset of Su accepting any situation.

While yes it's true there are still tickets available, the only tickets available in Vancouver will cost you $250+. It looks like Toronto has tickets if you're willing to fork over $110.00, so that's a little better lol I WAS lucky enough to get tickets for the Vancouver venue before the regular tickets sold out. I definitely cannot afford the vip tickets right now though. Hopefully one day!

Yes, BABYMETAL is indeed metal. But they are HAPPY METAL that can cheer people up and make them smile instead of screaming their anger 😁. They are the one and only 😊. That day UK fell in love with BABYMETAL ❤ BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL )

GJ on the reaction. For one of their other songs, they lay down on the stage for part of the choreography. On that rain-soaked stage they did it anyway. True pros. From their earliest days they were taught to do the best they can no matter what the circumstances are. And they've had some bad things happen. turned ankle on Moametal. Yuimetal fell off the stage. Moa pretending to lose Su-metals mic. The usual things that happen to bands. Su will often take out her in ear monitors to hear the crowd. When she says let me hear your voices, Su means it. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

Nice reaction friend 🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥 After playing music for a couple of decades now I've come to the realization that genres of music don't really exist..they are just a way to describe and categorize. Similar to borders on a map. I like to listen and play all kinds of music so didn't really have a shock reaction to Babymetal , it was more of a that's different and fun reaction. Keep rocking brother 💥🎸🥁 🎸💥

"Karate" also features djent-like riffs and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song @ the 2016 Annual Loudwire Music Awards. Karate explained that the lyrics are about never giving up and always moving forward, no matter what difficulties need to be endured. Furthermore, Karate choreographed described how the dance moves were made to help express the message of the song, as most of the lyrics were in Japanese 🇯🇵. That "Hashire" in karate will always tear me up every time. It just gives me a sense of epicness and energy that I have never felt with other songs before. Su-Metal voice has matured over the years now that she is in her early 20s. Noticing little things like Su-Metal removing her IEM at the 2016 UK 🇬🇧 Download Festival to hear the crowd always gets a thumbs up from me. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. There is more that you can hear from Su-Metal in-term of vocals:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Akatsuki" (Budokan Black Night) & (The Unfinished Version @ Makuhari Messe). 4. Rondo Of Nightmare With Mischief Of Metal Gods Intro @ Budokan Black Night). Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.

This is my go to vid to show my friends Babymetal. The girls, the kamiband, the crowd interaction. If you watch their Japanese mega concerts, you expect the crowd to go nuts and follow the girls lead... But it's fun seeing my friends jaws drop when a sea of western metal fans standing in the rain and singing along with 3 Japanese girls. That is priceless. 🤘🦊🤘

👍 👍 Thanks for this. Great reaction/review/analysis. You not only reacted to what a large number of viewers (not just patreon requests) recommended you did research beforehand concerning the song. You also noticed that while these festivals have a diverse group of fans there to see certain band favorites that a large number of those 60,000+ British metal heads knew the song well enough to participate. That is their show of respect. I know that you must honor the magority but may I throw a suggestion/link to a fairly recent LIVE (always LIVE) song/performance that I believe is quintessential BabyMetal? Syncopation LIVE kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZXFao2vZb6XhcU Hope to see you again.
